TV Fries the Catfish

July 26, 2017

Fargo, ND – Tony Viger put on a show for his parents Wednesday night at No Name Field. Viger blasted two home runs to help the Merchants beat the Cass County Catfish 13-0.

“This was the only game my parents could come to all year, I made sure it counted,” says Tony. “I even went to the gym before the game so I could be a little more jacked up.”

Viger and the Merchants clobbered the Catfish pitching all night. Collecting 13 hits, including home runs by Dan Ross and Steve Hirchert.

On the mound, Greg Lunski picked up his fourth win of the season and his 65th of his Merchant career, allowing one hit in three innings of work.

“I think I have another eight years left in me to get to 1,000 innings, that’s my goal,” stated Lunski while he struggled yet again to finish off a snack size order of wings at Buffalo Wild Wings, who are an official sponsor of Merchant baseball.

Anthony Fontana had two hit and three RBIs for the M’s as he improved his batting average to a career best .371.

The Merchants (19-4) will take on the Moorhead Brewers Sunday night at 5:00pm at Concordia. Please note, Sunday’s game was moved back one hour so Baumy can get an extra hour of sleep on Sunday morning.
