Coaches,

        South Fayette will once again hold its annual SF Holiday Shootout this year on December 21st and 22nd(Saturday and Sunday) at SF High School and Middle School.    The Shootout is not a tournament, but is instead an opportunity to play scheduled games in a great facility.   There are no champions or trophies, just a chance to get a lot of playing time for all of kids in a low pressure and enjoyable environment.  Teams in grades 4 through 8 will participate.    At each grade level, the teams will play 4 games (generally 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday).    For organizations that have both A and B level teams, you are welcome to split the games between the teams, as long as you let me know in advance so that I can schedule appropriately.  The entry fee is $200 per team (if your organization splits the games, you can just divide the fee between the teams).   Checks should be made payable to SF Boys Travel Basketball and can be mailed to my attention at the address below.

        The rules for the Shootout will be standard PIAA rules, with the exception that there will be NO pressing in the 4^th grade, and the 4^th grade will be required to play man-to-man defense.  For the 5^th grade level, pressing will be allowed in the 2^nd and 4^th quarters (the same rule as the CV League).   At all other levels, PIAA rules apply.   I will try very hard to get the best possible matchups for each team so that the games are both competitive and enjoyable.  

        This is our primary fundraiser that raises the money to fund our entire program.   We will have our concession stand open and those that have been to the Shootout in the past know that you and family and friends will eat well!   Please tell all of the kids NOT to bring their own basketball so we ask that only the Coaches bring basketballs to the Shootout. 

       PLEASE respond ASAP to let me know if your team plans to attend, and also provide me with any time restrictions or conflicts that I will try to work around.   The earliest games will start at 8 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, and the latest games will start at 9 p.m.   Games are scheduled every hour on the hour on all three courts.  Generally, the younger teams will play the earlier games and the older teams will play the later games throughout the day unless specific requests are made.   Once I have all of the teams locked in, I’ll start working on the schedule to get it out as quickly as possible.   I look forward to hearing from each of you ASAP.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me either by e-mail (ty44kaden@gmail.com) or on my cell at 724-344-4996.   I hope to see you all soon!
