The Model Laboratory baseball team snapped a five-game losing streak with a 12-5 win over Nicholas County on Wednesday in Carlisle.

The Patriots (3-6) had 15 hits, including three doubles.

Model took control early, scoring four times in the first inning then adding two more runs in the second.

Taylor Hill and Casey Brandenburg combined to limit Nicholas County to just three hits.

Zack Long was 3-for-4 with two RBI and scored a run. Cruse Pingleton and John Frazier were both 2-for-4 with two runs, a double and an RBI.

Brandenburg was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and scored three times. Nate Davis was 2-for-3 with two RBI, a double and scored once.

Hill was 1-for-3 with two walks and scored once. Jakob Tharp was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Luke Keck had two RBI and a walk and Mitchell McCown was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Hill started and went 3 2/3 innings. He allowed two hits, four runs (two earned) with five walks and two strikeouts.

Brandenburg worked the final 2 1/3 innings. He allowed one hit and one run with two walks.
