Rules Interpretation - Easton Ghost Gold Bat - Rules Interpretation

We have recently had 2 instances in CIAC varsity play where a player completed her time at bat and it was pointed out to the umpires by the defense that the player used the Easton Ghost gold bat. (before the next pitch)

In both cases the umpires ruled the batter out, nullified any play that happened and also ejected the player and coach.  This is the correct ruling.

The use of the Ghost gold bat (that does not have either required ASA stamp on it) is deemed as using  an unapproved bat.  The player and coach will have to "sit out" their next games in accordance with CIAC protocol.

This has caused issues throughout the country.  This is an official ruling based on information form NFHS.  The Easton Ghost blue bat is legal in NFHS and CIAC play.
