The Merchants have crawled out to a 2-4 start.  With many new faces and heavy turnover from previous years, the Merchants are re-identifying themselves.  With a solid 6th place finish in the Enderlin tournament a couple weeks ago the Merchants are sliding into regular Wednesday action at Tharaldson in Fargo.  A Jamestown tournament in a week and a half is looming and the M's will need to dig into their recruiting bag of tricks to pull it off.  Time will tell but we do know, as player/manager Bryan Erstad said before the first game of the year, "the more things change the more they stay the same."  That prompted Baumy to say, "what the hell does that mean?"  "I don't know but it seemed like a good thing to say," replied Erstad.  The Merchants, are still trying to figure that out...
