It is with deepest regret and sorrow that the BCCBL is sharing the news of the passing of one of its own, Paul Wise. Paul Wise passed away on Wednesday, May 6th, 2020 at his home in Downingtown, PA at the age of 78.  Wise served on the Board of the Blue Chip Collegiate Baseball League and had an integral part of running the All-Star Game.

Paul graduated from East Juniata High School in 1959 where he participated in varsity baseball, basketball, and soccer.  He moved to New York City after high school where he became a professional photographer and started his own studio.

After getting married and moving to Long Island, Paul became active in many local athletic programs.  He spent over 30 years involved with amateur baseball as a coach, commissioner, and served on the boards of several Leagues.  For many years, Paul served as the Commissioner of Baseball for the Long Island Collegiate Baseball League, a league he helped create.  In 2006, Paul was presented with the NABF Man of the Year Award for his commitment, passion, and dedication for Collegiate Amateur Baseball.

Paul is survived by his three children; Elizabeth Sokol, Paula Wise, and Todd Wise and four grandchildren Megan and Kelly Sokol and Colton and Taylor Wise.  He is also survived by four siblings Fanny, Ester, Ruth, and John.

Due to the current pandemic crisis, services will be held privately with the immediate family at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 11th.  Services are being coordinated by James J. Terry Funeral Home in Downington, Pa and will be available to view through a live stream service on their website
