Tyler Howard (Potlatch football): He had 172 yards rushing on 16 carries and finished with four total touchdowns as the Loggers beat Grace 46-8 in an Idaho Class 1A Division I state tournament first-round playoff game Friday at New Plymouth High School.

Trent Gwinn (Pomeroy football): The quarterback accounted for four touchdowns — two rushing, one passing and one receiving — as the Pirates remained undefeated with a 62-6 victory against visiting Liberty Christian in a Southeast 1B League game Friday.

Ahlius Yearout (Lapwai football): He finished with five touchdowns, including three receiving, and all were 13 or more yards Friday as the Wildcats earned a 58-6 Idaho Class 1A Division I state tournament first-round playoff win against visiting Clearwater Valley.

Morgan Blazzard (Troy volleyball): She finished with 17 kills, including a decisive one late in the third set, then served the final six points as the Trojans claimed the Idaho Class 1A Division I state title with a 25-12, 25-15, 25-12 victory Saturday against Troy at Lewis-Clark State College’s Activity Center.

Josephine Wyrick (Logos girls’ cross country): She finished in 24th place in the Class 1A state meet Saturday at Eagle Island State Park in a time of 21:57.2, but she was the difference maker as the Knights beat Raft River by just two points for the team title.
