PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT
• I will attend all practices, games, meetings and any other team functions ontime.
• I will show respect towards all coaches, players and referees.
• I will treat all equipment with respect and NEVER throw myhelmet.
• I will not fight or argue with coaches or teammates and I will not inflict any intentional injury on any other teammate or opposing player.
• I will stay within the established areas of the sidelines during games and pay attention to the coaches and be ready to play.
• I will demonstrate good sportsmanship on and off the field of play and I understand that I risk being ejected and/or suspended from a game or further League participation if I incur unsportsmanlike behavior or penalties.
• I will be coachable and ready to learn at all times but most of all have fun.
• I will be a team player and always put the team first.
• I will obey the coaches and the rules of the YSFLorganization.
• I understand there will be NO use of profanity, drugs, alcohol and/or tobacco during YSFL events.
COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT
• I will place the emotional and physical well being of my athletes ahead of a personal desire towin. The safety of my athletes will always come first!
• I will treat each player as an individual, remembering the large range of emotional andphysical development for the same age group.
• I will never use abusive or insulting language and I will treat everyone with respect anddignity.
• I will not tolerate inappropriate behavior, regardless of the situation. • I will do my best to provide a safe playing situation for myathletes.
• I will do my best to organize practices that are both fun and challenging for all my athletes and make sure that ALL athletes practice.
• I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play, respect and sportsmanship to all my athletes and encourage good sportsmanship from and to fellow coaches, athletes, officials and parents at all times.
• I will provide a sports environment for my team that is free of drugs, tobacco and/or alcohol byany of my athletes or coaches, and I will refrain from their use at all my team’s sportsevents.
• I will not allow the use of any anabolic agents or stimulants, drugs, tobacco or alcohol by any ofmy athletes.
• I will be knowledgeable in the rules of each sport I coach and I will teach these rules to myathletes. I will also be knowledgeable of the rules of the YSFLorganizations.
• I will use those coaching techniques that are appropriate for each of the skills Iteach.
• I will conduct myself in a positive manner at all times.
• I will address any of the concerns that the parents have as long as they are submitted alongthe guidelines stipulated in the YSFLrules. • I will remember that I am a youth sports coach and that the game is for the children and notthe adults.
