Starion Field was good to the Merchants as they pounded out 17 hits in six innings to down the Mayville Redcaps 12-0. The game was called after six and a half innings due to the run rule.
Jesse and D. Ross led the way, both getting three hits, two RBI's, and a double a piece. Nine of the ten Merchants had hits and RBI's in the game for a well rounded attack.
Baumgartner and Eckstein combined for the shutout. Baumy went five innings allowing two hits with three K's. Eck closed it down in the final two innings with one hit and three K's.
The Merchants are now 12-1 on the season. They did have their first setback last week with a close 3-1 loss to the Elks.
Next up is the Fargo Mets on Wednesday back at Starion Field.
