HIGH SCHOOLS WAA awards handed out

Lapwai’s boys basketball team was the big winner as the Warrior Athletic Association conducted its 16th High School Awards ceremony during the Lewis-Clark State basketball doubleheader.

The Wildcats were named the team of the year and former Lapwai standout Titus Yearout the male athlete of the year.

Other award winners included Orofino’s Lindi Kessinger the female athlete of the year, Troy’s Travis House the coach of the year and Prairie’s Jerry Richardson won the Rick Hill Meritorious award.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Chloe Overberg (Asotin), Maggie Ogden (Clarkston), Katie Wessels (Lewiston), Lindi Kessinger (Orofino)*.
