LEWISTON - The Lapwai Wildcat Boys Basketball team, winners of 41 straight games dating back to the 2020-21 season, will look to defend their crown at the 2022 Avista Holiday Tournament when action kicks off on Tuesday. The defending-champion Wildcats defeated Lewiston 81-63 to take home last year's trophy. Kase Wynott was named 2021 Tournament MVP.

So far in the 2022-23 season, all the Wildcat Boys have done is go 5-0, holding wins over Idaho 5A Post Falls (72-54), and most recently Oregon 4A Baker (78-77). The incredibly efficient Wildcats have also eclipsed triple-digits twice, defeating Genesee 105-32 and Clearwater Valley 105-34.

Head Coach Zachary Eastman and the Wildcat Boys will kick-off their 2022 Avista Holiday Tournament Tuesday afternoon when they take on the Moscow Bears. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Should Lapwai defeat Moscow, they will then advance to the semi-finals to face the winner of Lewiston/Kellogg on Wednesday.

The 2022 Avista Holiday Tournament will once again be played at the P1FCU Activity Center on the campus of Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, ID.
