2026 OLD BRIDGE WOMEN’S LEAGUE RULES Amendments to USSSA Rules
- Games are scheduled for 6:30p & 8p
- Forfeit time is 645P & 8:15p (accidents or emergencies will be determined at the field)
- Both Teams will provide a new ball and backup ball for all games.
- Bats: 2004 & newer
- Umps will supply the bases and call in Final Scores & Manager
- Bases: 60FT, Double 1st Base, 50 ft pitching mound
- Plate and Mat WILL be a Strike
- Batters: 1/1 Count w/Courtesy
- Pitching is 5’ to 10’ Arc
- NO leading or stealing allowed
- No metal cleats (inform your Fastpitch players)
- Slide or Avoid while running the bases
- 3 Courtesy Runners Per Game (take 1st base only) if more needed discuss at the plate
- Tournament Players 3 Allowed Per Team
- No children under 18 is allowed on the field while a game is being played.
- NO pregnant women allowed
-Tie Breaker
- International Rule applies the start of the 9th inning with last batter out (last inning) starting on 2nd base
- 18 + to play
- Can start with 9 players and add up to 10 anytime
- Teams can bat up to 13 players. Substitutes are allowed.(No DH)
- ALL Players must play 2 innings
- Rain out Games will be on a time limit (70 min)
- 3 Rainouts will be added to the end of the season
- if more than 3 Rainouts we need to schedule dbl headers
- Teams Pay Umps $25.00 per game
- Playoff teams pay each ump $25
- Championship Game Fees $60.00. 1 Game 9 innings (7p start)
- Mercy Rule: 15/4 10/5
- No Mercy Rule for playoffs & championship games
- 3 Game guarantee to qualify for playoffs and championship
- Rosters need to be completed by the 3rd played game. (25 Max per roster)
- If rosters are closed, and an injury occurs you must petition the league for a replacement player.
- You Can’t change the batting order once you batted through the lineup. (it will be an out per batter)
- PROTESTING A GAME: (Player) $100.00 before the 3rd inning begins. (A PLAY) is done instantly. If the protest is later than the 3rd inning the Protest WILL NOT COUNT. If the protest is legit you will get the money back. If the protest is not, the money goes towards the league.
- NO ALCOHOL / POT allowed across the bridge. (Township Rules)
- INTERLEAGUE SUBS: (avoid forfeits) Anyone can ask to sub for a team to give them up to 10 players. (Only two interleague subs allowed per team) Subs can stay in the game until their team members arrive. You need 6 players from your own roster to play and not forfeit. Interleague subs MUST bat LAST. Playoffs/Championship subs are NOT allowed.
- FORFEITING: If you can’t man a team. You must contact a league official no later than 4pm game day. After 4p or a field forfeit you are responsible to pay the ump $50.00. Jenn 908-227-5087. (call or text)
- INJURY ON THE FIELD: If a player is injured on the field we need to makeup an accident report. They will be supplied by the league. 10 batters w/no sub, No out will occur. 11/12 batters in a lineup w/ no sub available Out will count.
- GAME CANCELLATION: OB determines if a game will be cancelled. We will try our best to make them up ASAP. Makeup games can be played @ 915p (ALT. PARKS - Geick/ Mannino)
- LEAGUE SPORTSMANSHIP: If an issue arises the player is to address the MGR. If a player gets no resolve then contact the OBWSL Director. At NO point are any player/manager got contact OB Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation. If the town is contacted by any league player this will result in a minimum 2 game suspensions of any USSSA Sanction Games.
- POOR SPORTSMANSHIP: This is a Rec League. This is based per game. This will include all players and umps. League and or player basing will not be tolerated at any time.
- 1st Warning
- 2nd Ejection for the game. (player/ump MUST cross the bridge)
- 3rd League advisors will decide future games. (See USSSA Rules Sec. 10)
- OB TOWNSHIP REFUND POLICY: No refunds due to acts of Mother Nature.
