Solid defense, five pitchers, some key hits, and five errors from the Redcaps vaulted the Merchants to a 5-1 win at Helling Field on Wednesday night.  Brandon Baumgartner threw three perfect innings with four strikeouts to set the tone and get the win.  Jake Bryant and Drew Clouse led the way with two hits a piece and Preston Jensen drove in three runs.  Newcomer Chayton Senn and JB Morales pulled off two double steals to get in scoring position and score big runs for the M's.

The Merchants evened up their record at 1-1 and will be in action next Wednesday vs. the Catfish on Helling Field.
