The Merchants wrapped up the regular season with a clean, crisp 3-2 win over a tough Mudcats team.  Solid pitching and some timely hitting were the difference.  The Merchants used a total of six pitchers to get some work in before State and they were all brilliant.  Ethan Claus got the win on the mound going the first two innings then Eckstein, Zitzow, Baumy, and Alme all got holds while Chayton Senn picked up the save.

JB, Jesse, Erstad, and Lane all had two hits.  Erstad drove in a pair and also set the all-time Merchants hit record with his 648th and 649th hits.

Next up is the ND AAA State Tournament on Friday, August 26th at 7:00 pm in Jamestown at Jack Brown Stadium.  The Merchants will play the winner of Mayville and Casselton which play the day before.  The Merchants are on a quest for back to back state titles for the first time since the 2017-2018 seasons.  Can they do it?  Come on out and watch and see!
