Subscribe to our NewsletterThe 2024 Susquehanna Senior Softball League championship playoff game (if-game) between Rogele and Strike Force was played on Monday, August 12th at Roof Park - field 2. The last 30 minutes of the game was very entertaining and suspenseful as it took 10 innings to decide the winner. Rogele led 3 to 0 going into the bottom of the 7th inning. Strike Force scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to tie the score and had a chance to win the game with a runner on second base and only one out. However, Rogele made the necessary defensive plays to keep the score tied at 3 to 3 to extend the game into the 8th inning. Both teams scored one run in the 8th and 9th innings, respectively, making the score 5 to 5. Strike Force again had a chance to win the game in the bottom of the 9th inning as the potential winning run was cut down at home plate by an accurate long throw from Rogele's right center fielder to the catcher. In the top of the 10th inning Rogele broke out and scored 4 runs. In the bottom of the 10th inning Strike force scored 2 runs and left the bases loaded when the final out of the game occurred. The final score was Rogele 9 Strike Force 7.
Rogele has now won an impressive 4 consecutive SSS League playoff championships from 2021 - 2024. However, they still have a ways to go to match MONY's incredible feat of winning 21 consecutive SSS League playoff championships from 1999 - 2019! (Note: In 2020 there was no playoff champion crowned due to the entire season being cancelled because of Covid)
