Oskie Flag Football

Awards - The refs vote on one Offense and one Defense mvp per game. Those are all put in a list. The MVP race only includes people that receive votes in both categories. MVP race is the cumulative vote count from both OPoS and DPoS. 

MVP:

Once again we had another incredible race. We had two players who both were not on the MVP race as they had only received votes in the defensive player of the session race. With that said they were DOMINATING that category. Week 6 both received an offensive vote making them both eligible for MVP. Making this race decided by one vote again! Julian Mejia from Martin Jewelry edged out Aric Thomas (AT) from CSK by one vote. Julian collected 10 votes this session (9 of which for defense). Julian has been dominant as the rusher for Martin Jewelry. Leading their defense to be one of the top defenses. While also being a great deep ball threat on the offensive side as well! 

Offensive Player of the Session:

This award was a 4 way tie going into week 6! We did have someone separate themselves and collect two more votes meaning they received 6 out of the 12 votes this session. Seth Novak of ATK has already made a splash in his first ever session! Seth is a very elusive QB with a good accurate arm and constantly extends plays for his team! 

Defensive Player of the Session:

This award is going to our first ever back to back champ. Aric Thomas (AT) is again our Defensive Player of the Session. Ever since joining CSK Aric has been a star in the league. Getting 2nd in our MVP voting 2 sessions in a row. Throwing deep against AT is no simple task and thats why he is our back to back Defensive Player of the Session. 

Gunslinger Award (Top QB):

This was the hardest award of the session to decide. We had 2 long term players in the league that had near identical stats! There was no right answer in this one as both players were very deserving! With that said I did have to make a decision eventually. This player probably deserved this award many sessions ago truthfully. So we are going to make sure he gets it now. Your Fall 2025 Top QB is Chuck Wright of CSK!

Unsung Hero Award (Top Rusher):

This award goes to in my opinion the 2nd most important (behind QB) position in Flag football. The rusher! This award is tough as it is extremely hard to be a full time rusher. With Julian winning MVP this opened the door to some other Candidates to win this award and there were a couple that absolutely deserved to be in the conversation anyway. This one was pretty straight forward after reviewing games played though as this player is as relentless as he is fast. He absolutely causes hell for all QB's. With all that said, Kyden Johnson from Oskie is your Top rusher of Fall 2025! 

I'm Always Open Award (Top WR):

Another award that our winner probably has deserved an award many sessions ago, but better late than never right? We had some really good options but this player I think most people would have a hard time arguing whether he is elite or not. He creates plays on short and long passes and is on a top team in the league. This sessions Top WR is Jeremiah Stoval of CSK!

Island Award (Top DB):

This session has had a lot of really good DB's but one player sure has an eye for the ball on defense. We have a few guys that really make a living creating turnovers but this player specifically may just lead the league in takeaways. And that says a lot with players like AT and X who have always been really good at that as well. Your Fall 2025 Top DB is Tyler Levy of the Dawgs!

Rising Star (1st time player):

I really like highlighing new players & teams to the league. This session we had a brand new team with a ton of really good players that are now even competing for a Gold championship. However, there is a guy that played for shadowhawks that consistently won mvp votes and was a shining star on his team. Art Foster is your "Rising Star" of the Fall 2025 session!

Top Free Agent:

This award was made for the players that joined our league as a free agent or through the draft league sign ups. I think it can be tough to put yourself out there and join teams when you dont know anyone. I actually was in the group chat with one of the teams that was made up of all free agents and there is one player I have got to see stand out on and off the field. Your Top Free Agent of Fall 2025 is Raymon Arias!

TEAM AWARD

New Comers: 

We had quite a few new teams this session but one team specifcally had to learn a whole new style of flag football. They even chose to opt up and take on our best teams! That competitive spirit really fires me up a little. So your team award for "New Comers" for the Fall 2025 Session are ATK.
