We want to inform you that a recent service outage with one of our third-party payment processors, which occurred from 8:02 AM CT to 9:45 AM CT, has been successfully resolved.
While this issue may have temporarily impacted some registrations or payments, our team has confirmed that all services are now fully operational and transactions are processing normally.

SKYBA Travel Overview and Expectations

SKYBA competes in the RIYBA Metrowest Basketball League,  Travel basketball is known to have a higher level of competitiveness than recreational basketball.  Any players considering making the jump to a traveling team should be made aware of the following:

  • SKYBA basketball is highly competitive and plays in a travel league competing against towns from all across the state.
  • The fee for the 2025-26 Season is $315.
  • Uniforms are purchased through Elmwood Sports and cost roughly $100.
  • Expect two nights per week for practice. Practices will be held at Peace Dale Elementary School and Broad Rock Middle School.
    • We try to maximize the limited gym space available to us and are dependent on school gym availibility for practices. We cannot control last minute cancellations due to school related issues.
  • Games are primarily on Sundays (times and locations TBD).  You will play some games at home and will need to travel to some games (usually no more than 45-50 minutes away). The first game is typically the first week in December and runs through mid-March including playoffs.
  • We recognize and support the fact that most of our participants play multiple sports.  Participants are strongly encouraged to make SKYBA the highest priority sport and team during the Travel season.  The expectation is that players will attend all practices and games and will not miss SKYBA  commitments during the season.
  • The SKYBA travel teams are limited to South Kingstown residents only.  Non-residents are not allowed to try out or play for the SKYBA teams.  Proof of residency will be requested for players to ensure compliance with these standards.  In certain situations if there are not enough players in a specific age group there may be exceptions.
  • Your coach may decide to participate in 2-3 preseason or midseason tournaments which are offered over holidays throughout the season.  (Thanksgiving, Christmas, MLK, Presidents Day)
