On March 5 and 6, the GoodGuides Older Team participated in the Chicago Spring Tournament. The first day the team lost by one point. GoodGuides had the ball with a couple of seconds on the clock but missed the game winning shot in a 39-38 loss. The next day the GoodGuides team started off slow in the consolation game and was unable to get on track. The final score was 35-20. March 3, 2011 the GoodGuides Younger team played a tough Kemmer Village team but was able to pull away in the second half. Coach Faraji Martin expressed that he was impressed with his team defense and effort. Eric Jackson, Aveon Shepherd, and Thomas Jones all scored in double figures with Martell Ray and Fontray Wiley contributing 7 points each off the bench in a win. February 10, 2011 the GoodGuides Older team played Arrowhead Ranch in Coal Valley, Illinois. The GoodGuides team was able to win on the road with Taverius Rice leading the way with 18 points and 26 rebounds and Eric Jackson contributing 19 points. Coach Ikenna Martin expressed that he was happy with the overall effort of the team On January 22, Aveon Shepherd helped the GoodGuides Younger team with 18 points and 6 rebounds to win their first game in tournament play. Tremont Jefferson was able to seal the game with 9 points in the last two minutes of the game. The final score was 42-24. The championship game was a close defensive game with Tim Frazier scoring 8 points, Eric Jackson adding 6 points and 4 rebounds, and Aveon Shepherd chipping in 8 points and 5 rebounds to win the Jaguar Winter On January 8, 2011, Shaquille Williams had 18 points in a win at the Jaguar Winter Tournament in Blue Island, Illinois. The GoodGuides Older team finished 1-2 in the tournament. Coach Ikenna Martin felt this was a good experience for his guys to see what they need to work on to win these type of tournaments.
