A Historic AOBL Night!

Dear Brothers,

Assalamu-ailaikum Warahmatullah!

Alhamdulilah , the day was started after Brothers offered Fajr Salat, pondered over the Holy Qu’ran and it’s translation, then went to eat breakfast and finally played intense and great regular season games.

By the Grace of Allah, we held our second season games for AOBL on Sunday, 5th of November. Alhamdolillah, we had 2 intense season games to this week. 


There will be no AOBL games held the following week as it is Family Weekend but pick up games will be played after Fajr namaz.
The next AOBL game will be held on SundayNovember 19, 2017 in the morning after Fajr Namaz.

Game 1 - Rafaqat vs Amanat
Rafaqat get their second win in double overtime as they are undefeated!

The game between Rafaqat and Amanat came down to the wire! The game was tight throughout. The scoring started out quick as Farzaan Chaudhry (filling in as an extra player for team Rafaqat) put up some quick buckets. He finished the game with an amazing 33 points and 21 rebounds. Qudoos Chaudhry also player very well for team Rafaqat as he finished the game with 10 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. Team Amanat made a quick comeback with captain Hammad and Muneer Khan putting up some great scoring opportunities. Hammad finished the game with an amazing 30 points, 5 assists, and 13 rebounds along with 3 steals. Muneer Khan finished with a near triple double recording 16 points, 8 assists, and 11 rebounds. Team Rafaqat went into half time with a small lead. In the second half, the game came down to the wire. The game was tied with a few seconds to go as Fawad Khan came up to hit the winning shot but missed. He finished the game with a great 13 points, 10 assists, and 3 rebounds. The game went into Overtime but more of the same and went down and the game was forced to go to Double Overtime. With the game clock running down Farzaan hit a great shot to help Rafaqat go up by 2. With only a few seconds left in  the game, Brother Muneer Khan brought up the ball and passed to the captain, Hammad, who hits the shot to tie the game but unfortunately misses the game tying shot. In the end Rafaqat steal the win 56-54 and are undefeated in the new season.

 

Game 2 - Sadaqat vs Shujaat
A historical AOBL game!

The game between Sadaqat and Shujaat went down in the AOBL history books as it was the highest scoring AOBL game ever recorded. The game finished with a score of 111-86 as team Shujaat hit triple digit scoring! The game started out wih Shujaat dominating. Brother Raheel Ahmed and Zamad played amazingly well. Raheel finished the game with 27 points 11 assists and 6 rebounds and Zamad finished with 33 points, 16 rebounds, and a block (Leads League in BPG). Team Shujaat went in to half time a humongous lead and showed no signs of slowing down. In the second half, Team Rafaqat showed a little bit of progress they cut the lead to about 12 points. Brother Shayaan Ahmed finished with the second Triple Double ever recorded in AOBL (First one achieved by Musaver Ahmad) . He finished the game with 29 points, 18 assists (Leads League in APG), and 22 rebounds along with 6 steals (Lead League in SPG). Brother Noor (filling in as extra player for team Rafaqat) also put in an amazingly dominating performance as he finished with 45 Points and 12 rebounds in his rookie season!! Brother Saib and Brother Shahjehan also put up great stats as Saib Ahmad finished with 6 points and 9 rebounds ans Shahjehan Ahmed finished with 6 points and 6 assists. But team Shujaat's offense proved too much as the man of the day Farzaan Chaudhry dropped a record 51 points (Leads League in PPG), and 25 rebounds (Leads League in RPG) !!!! In the end, Team Shujaaat, won the game with a huge victory, 111-86.
