Hello everyone,

first off we'd like to apologize for the delay in getting this information to you, but as you will read, we had very little information to give about the playoffs, and received this information just a few days ago, and have been scrambling.
We finally have a plan now and are moving forward in a direction that is best for OUR league. the mens league and pioneer league combined tourney will have to wait another year.

The hold up was based on waiting to hear from the mens league about when they had Ice booked, We found out on Monday that they had booked the tourney for the last weekend in march 29-31st. The end of spring break. this posed a few problems for the PHL,
1. it only gave us 10 days to play the first 2 rounds of playoffs
2. A lot of our players are away with family obligations during this weekend
3. with such short notice it really forced the league to scramble for ice, refs, and scheduling, to accommodate these dates and times.
4.It was thought we could push back the tourney one weekend and solve all the problems, but rink 2 ice will be removed on April 2nd, leaving us with not enough ice to play all the games needed.

so after a day on the phones with the rink, and a conference call between Ben, Neil, Josh and Chad we were able to come up with another plan that suits our league much better and is far less stressful with those time restraints of 10 days.

The PHL has never given up the ice allocation for the paint your wagon tournament, and it is scheduled for April 5-7, but because there is no Rink 2, all games would have to be played on Rink 1.

So the PHL will be Concluding the regular season this weekend March 17/18, There will be 2 rounds of playoffs held on our regular season ice times of Sunday/Monday on the last 2 weekends in march and then we will finish our playoffs on the April 5-7 weekend were all teams will play 3 games, the last 2 round robin and your crossover.

By doing this we will be able to have all games played at decent family friendly  hours so people can come watch, championship game to be played sunday afternoon. We are currently trying to apply for a license to serve beers, this may not happen as there is a cut off date. Ben and Josh will be releasing the rest of the schedule next week after the regular season games have concluded. So for now plan to play next weekend like we always do, and stay tuned for more updates shortly.

thanks to everyone for their patience
the executive.
