The Special Olympics Softball Program operates on Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 7:20 pm at the Sgt Nugent’s field in Kelligrews. The first session for 2018 will be held on June 6 and the final session will be held on August 29. To operate properly, the program needs to maintain a low ratio between coaches and players. Currently, the program needs 4 – 5 knowledgeable ball players every session to work with these kids and give them proper instruction. If there was one player from each team in the CBS Master’s Softball League, that would suffice. Also, players from the CBS Master’s League would not have to miss their games if they had one on Wednesday because there are always four teams that do not play each night.
