The Chelsea Youth Hockey League is a small community based recreational league and should in no way be compared to Association based hockey which offers a much richer developmental hockey program that is able to group players specifically according to their age and skill level. The Chelsea Youth Hockey League is unable to offer this level of age-based hockey skills development and in no way wants to replicate the Association program.

Parents registering their child in the league must anticipate there will be a wide range in the age, size and skill level amongst players within all divisions.

The Chelsea Youth Hockey League fully supports and encourages parents and kids to pursue Association based hockey if they are able to. The Chelsea Youth Hockey League exists for those seeking a simple introduction to the sport for their kids or for a more recreational hockey experience.
