Fargo, ND - Five Merchant pitchers combined to no-hit the Cass County Catfish Wednesday night as the M’s thumped the Catfish 16-0 in seven innings.

Brandon Baumgartner got the win for the Merchants throwing three hitless innings. Greg Lunski, Jameson Benson, Tony Viger and Steve Hirchert each threw a hitless inning to complete the no-hitter.

This was the first Merchant no-hitter since the legendary “O-Face” game by Greg Lunski in the 2014 state tournament.

The Miller Lite Merchants were paced at the plate by Andrew Hill, Tony Viger and Turner Storm who each had multi-hit games. Hill and Storm both had RBI triples, while Viger blasted his first career Merchant homerun off a light post in left center.

Dakotah Kirchenwitz continued his #ComebackSZN by collecting two hits, he has now equaled his total number of hits from all last season.

The Merchants are now (5-1) on the season and will head to the Detroit Lakes Angels Invitational this weekend. The first game of the invite takes place Friday night at 8:15 pm against the Richmond Royals. Greg Lunski will toe the rubber for the M’s.
