Lunski Dominates the Redcaps

July 19, 2017

Fargo, ND – Greg Lunski was outstanding on the mound for the Merchants Wednesday night at No Name Field as the M’s beat the Mayville Redcaps 4-1.

Lunski gave the M’s seven solid innings, allowing only one run, and striking out five to improve to 3-0 on the year.

“I had almost a month off from pitching so the arm felt great tonight,” stated Lunski as he struggled to finish his snack size order of wings at Buffalo Wild Wings later that night.

“Doppler” Dan Ross pitched the last two innings for the M’s to collect his first career Merchant save.

At the plate, the Merchants only had five hits, Jared J-Rod Purdy collected the only RBI for the M’s with a double in the three run sixth inning that gave the Merchants a 4-0 lead.

The Redcaps scored their lone run off Lunski in the seventh but Ross blanked Mayville in the eighth and ninth to improve the M’s record to 18-4.

The Miller Lite Merchants have the weekend off before they get back in action against the Cass County Catfish next Wednesday at No Name Field.

Schedule Update: Our game scheduled against Enderlin for this upcoming Friday has been cancelled with no make-up date announced.
