Rules

All games will start at 6:15 PM or 8PM (Tuesday - Thursday). We have the field Monday-thursday at certain times for some games and makeups.
Games will be played at Memorial Sports Complex (MSC).

An official game will consist of seven (7) innings unless rain or the fifteen (15) run rule prevails. Four (4) innings (3 1/2 innings if the home team is ahead) is an official game.

A team leading by 15+ runs after five (5) innings or any complete inning thereafter will be declared the winner and the game is considered complete.

If a game is postponed due to weather, it will be resumed at the point from which it was stopped. Rainouts will be rescheduled as the season progresses. Team captains will make the call due to inclement weather.

Distance between home and pitcher’s mound is 50 (feet). Distance between bases is 65 (feet).

There is a 6-12ft arc for pitchers and when the ball hits the plate or mat it's a strike.    The batter can swing at a FLAT pitch.  A flat pitch must be called by the 1st base coach. A pitcher must release the pitch between 50-55 feet. Use the rubber as a guide. Plays at home plate should be the third base coach's call. There should be a safety mat for home plate. There is a commit line between 3rd and home. If a runner goes past that line he must go home. If a fielder get's a ball when the runner crosses the comit line he must throw home to get that player out.

The left and right light poles will be the fair poles.

Foul Third Strike-When a batter incurs a count of 1 strike, he/she will be called out on his second foul ball. On a 1 strike second foul ball, the batter is automatically out and the ball is dead, regardless if a player makes a play or attempted to play the ball.

Bunts of any kind are not allowed. (Swing-bunt, drag bunt, slap, etc).

Any ball hit into right field gully either in the air or on the ground is ruled a ground-rule double. The light poles are the fair/foul lines in the outfield.  The inner light post will be used in left field.  The cart path and beyond is out of play.

A team will be permitted an extra 15 minutes to field a proper team.

Proper teams consist of a minimum of nine (9) players, three (3) of which must be women. Maximum number is 24 players. Two girls should be in the top ten in the batting order.

All teams must start the game with a minimum of three (3) women. If one (1) of the women gets hurt after the games has started, a team may continue the game with a minimum of two (2) women. If you have two girls in the lineup you can still play but take a automatic out. One girl is not enough for a league game.

Teams may play maximum of ten (10) players in the field and twelve (12) in the batting order (playoffs only). Female players must be staggered between male players.

A substitution may be made at any time, but must be reported. Captains must substitute player on offense and defense.

Advise the opposing team captain of any changes. If a player leaves before the game is completed and a substitution is not available, their place in the batting order will be considered an out.

Courtesy runners will be allowed. All courtesy runners must be the last out player. The courtesy runner must be of the same gender.

If a base runner leaves early, meaning leaves the base before the ball is hit or crosses home plate. The runner is considered out.

Any base runner that crosses the half way point between third base and home must commit to home. The third base coach will determine if the runner has crossed the midway point.  There is no stealing or leading.

A runner may advance one base on a dead ball or overthrown ball which goes into foul territory and cannot be retrieved due to some obstruction.

A runner may advance freely for as many bases as possible on an overthrown ball, which stays in fair territory.

Runners must veer or slide at any base to avoid injury.

At all times to avoid contact and collisions at home plate, it is a mandatory force out at the plate and the runner does not have to be tagged. There is a NO slide rule at home plate, if you slide you will be out.

Take-out slides are not permitted and will not be tolerated! The runner will be called out immediately and the entire team may be terminated from the league.

Outfielders are not allowed to come in past the cones/markers placed 100 feet behind every base and cannot throw out female players at 1st base from the outfield. Also when a women is batting all infielders should be on the infield dirt.

The throwing of any equipment for any reason is grounds for immediate ejection from the game.

FORFEITS
