Cards beat New Cumberland 5-3 in tight game

Mechanicsburg beat New Cumberland 5-3 to take a 3-1 lead in the best of 7 championship series.  Zane Grimes pitched 7 tough innings for the win.

The Cards scored all of their runs in the 5th inning. Luke Wagner hit a home run over the right field fence to get the scoring started. Ryan Wentzel singled and moved to second on a walk to Teed Wertz. Ryan Gray doubled Wentzel home. Josh Herring tripled to score Wertz and Gray. Hunter Breon's perfect bunt scored Herring.

Things got tense in the last inning. Grimes hit the first two batters. A sacrifice bunt moved the runners to second and third.  A walk loaded the bases with one out.  Grimes struck out the next batter.  With a 3-2 count on the next batter Grimes coaxed a come back grounder for the final out.
