Seeking 3 interns for out 18u Team, 16u Team, and 14u Team.

Title: Team Intern

Location: Long Island, NY

Obligation: Part-Time, Summer (Late May-Early August)

Company Description: A youth travel baseball organization with teams at the 18u, 16u, and 14u level. The organization is run by people who have played college baseball, and/or coach high school baseball, and is independent of any entity. We bring a competitive edge to the local leagues, and tournaments we play in. In addition, we run practices and aid in player development, while help with getting players onto a college baseball team. We are a low budget team, but aim to offer a premium experience to our players and parents. Taking an up-front and honest approach, we feel we are much different than other travel organizations based on Long Island. We are aiming to change the landscape of youth baseball or at the very least offer an alternative to overpriced, and dishonest competition in our area. In addition to being an affordable option, we maintain an active web-site with post game stories, stats, and record keeping. Also we engage players and parents on social media outlets which give us a chance to communicate with people and let Long Island know who we are.

Responsibilities: We are looking for interns to aid in several areas that will help us provide a better experience for our players. These responsibilities will range from statistician, web-site editor, post-game reports, photography, to sponsorship sales. 

• Attend Sand Sharks games
•             Keep Stats for the game, and take photos during the game
•             Update the team web-site after the game with stats, photos, and a post game write-up
•             Update social media accounts
•             Sell sponsorships to local businesses

Basic Requirements: A student pursing a degree in; Sports Management, Sports Journalism, or another relevant field. Interns will be required to attend all games on the schedule for their respective team. (Roughly 30 games, 3-4 games a week)

Additional Requirements: He or she must be punctual! The person should be detailed oriented, and enthusiastic about baseball. Candidates must be great communicators, and be able to follow directions. Candidates should have a reliable transportation to games, and miss no more than 3 games for the season.

Compensation:  Interns will be compensated by earning commission on sponsorship sales. Additionally, at the end of the season a interns will reiceve a gift card in the $25-50 range, and the best intern overall will recieve a cash bonus. 

Note: When applying for this position you will require to answer the following questions:

1.         Can you attend 95% of your assigned games, and be there on time?
2.            Are you ok with working more for the experience, and less for the money?
3.            Do you know how to score a baseball game?
