Westview extends their season to a final game for 2019.  The Wolverines will be playing for CIF Southern California Sectionals Division 2 Championship title.  These boys and coaches who started their season slow are finishing strong.  With a team that has come together post-season to have a chance for State Sectional title is awesome.  Teamwork and great chemistry has helped the Westview Wolverines to drive towards great accomplishments.

On Thursday 2/28/19, the Westsview boys soccer team travelled to Riverside to take on the #1 seeded, Arlington Lions.  Westview took a 1-0 lead in the 1st half.  Going into the 2nd half, the Wolverines added another goal to go up 2-0 on the Lions.  Arlington did manage to put the ball between the posts to tally one goal. The Westview Wolverines walked off the field victorious with a 2-1 win.  Goals by Izel and Matthew helped the team surpass the Arlington Lions.  Patrick had 7 saves in goal.

Westview will travel to Long Beach to take on the #2 Cabrillo Jaguars.  The Jaguars rolled over their opponent, San Fernando, 7-0, to advance to the championship game.  The Jaquars (23-3-4) enter this game losing the CIF SS D2 championship to Arlington 3-2.  The championship game should be a great game with two strong contenders for the title.

If you have nothing better to do on a late Saturday afternoon, travel to Long Beach and come cheer on the Gold & Black to victory!
