Pre-K and Kindergarten: This program takes place only on Saturday mornings. The location is 7400 Brooklyn Bridge Road Laurel, MD 20707. You can sign up for our 9:00 am time slot. the program is co-ed and run by professional soccer trainers. The dates for the 7 week program are 4/18, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16, 5/30, and 6/6. Cost is $100. ***As of 2/20/20 we are down to our final 7 spots for this program***
Co-Ed Grades 1-2**/and Co-Ed Grades 3-4: This volunteer-coached program is for girls and boys who will be in grades 1-2 and in grades 3-4 for school year 2019-2020. We will have 8 teams in this program. Your child will be placed on one of these teams based on several factors: school they attend, night you cannot practice, your coach request, team they played on in prior season. Teams will practice with their team one or two nights per week on a night the coach determines. We will not know what night every team is practicing until closer to when the season begins. Practice usually starts at 6:00 pm at night, but could start at 5:30 or 6:30 if the coach so chooses. Practice will take place on a field chosen by your coach within the Greater Laurel area. We won't know exactly where practice will be held until closer to when the season begins. The field will be as close to your home as possible. Teams will play 8 games on Saturdays. Kick off times will vary from week to week for your team but could include 9:00 am, 10:30 am, noon and 1:30 pm or later depending on many factors. We will have a schedule for you closer to when the season begins. The dates for the 8 games are 4/18, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16, 5/30, 6/6, and 6/13. Cost is $125. Teams will start practicing approximately 2 weeks before the first game. If we have to cancel any games due to field closures they will be made up the weekend following on Sunday at a time to be determined. We try to not have make-up games on Sundays prior to 2:00 pm. The location for games will be T. Howard Duckett Park located at 7400 Brooklyn Bridge Road Laurel, MD 20707.
**We are currently registering players in grades 1-2 on our waitlist. As of 2/20 we need 9 more players to form another team. Please register for the wait list, but do not pay any registration fee at this time.
Other Age Groups: If you have child in an age group not listed above please contact us about availability. We have several select teams, but very few spots available. We will let you know the specific details on these teams to see if they meet your schedule. If you'd like to help start a new team for your child's age group we would love to talk about the possibility!
How do the programs work?
All of our programs are Recreational Programs designed to allow all boys and girls, regardless of soccer experience, the opportunity to play the game of soccer.
Team Formation: Teams are established based on gender and age. Other factors in team placement include date of registration, last season’s team, and any special requests made by the parents. Team requests are not 100% guaranteed.
Tryouts: not required.
Practice: Coaches select the time, location and frequency of practice. Grades 1/2 teams practice once per week. Older teams will practice once or twice per week depending on team coach. High School teams typically practice once a week.
Playing Time: Each player will play at least 50% of each game.
Games: Boys grades 1-6 play games on Saturdays. Recreation girls teams and older boys teams also play on Saturdays. Select boys and girls teams will play on Friday nights or Sundays. We do our best to provide as much information as to what the game schedule will be, but it is often dependent on how many sign ups we have per age group.
Location: Games are played at various fields throughout the Greater Laurel area including Contee Road Park, Cross Creek Park, T. Howard Duckett and Fairland Regional Park. Practices are typically at school fields in the Greater Laurel area. Every effort will be made to place your player on a team that practices at a field that is near your home. All of our girls teams and boys older than grade 6 play their games at the Soccer Association of Columbia's fields, typically at Covenant Park.
Players are not permitted to play on another organized soccer team while they are playing on a GLUSC team.
Time: 8 - 10 week session.

Coaches and Coordinators
Many people do not realize that GLUSC is an ALL volunteer organization. The coaches that you see every week at games and practices and the coordinators who organize the leagues and distribute the equipment, uniforms and awards are giving us their valuable time to make this organization a success. Make someone smile - thank a coach! If you are interested in helping GLUSC make kids lives richer in any way please 301-821-6851 for more information.
