Welcome To Flames Basketball 101
The Flames Travel Basketball Club started in the spring of 2011. One coach with a desire for basketball believed that he could put together a group of 12-15 boys in grades 8th-10th grades and teach them about hard work and dedication. Basketball would be the driving force used as motivation. This coach had already organized the Alabama Lady Ballers team and it became a strong competitive girls program. This coach is Danny Davis. Coach Davis started these teams through his desire for basketball and to help young men and women. Through his guidance, many previous players have received basketball, football and academic scholarships.
In the Spring of 2013 Coach Davis decided to create a division for High School Basketball and a division for Middle School Basketball. The High School division assumed the name of Southern Basketball Academy (SBA), but still played under the team names of Alabama Flames and Alabama Lady Ballers. The Middle School Division kept the Alabama Flames name but did not merge under the SBA division name. The results remained the same as more high school and middle school players continued to flock to the program. Teams have placed 1st or 2nd in over 40 tournaments over the last 4 years collectively.
Even though some of the faces in the program have changed over the years, the ideas and desire remain the same. The coaches in the Flames and Lady Ballers program believe in preparing the players for the future. We know everyone is not on the same level at the same time, but we work with each player to get them to highest level they can achieve. If you want to learn hard work and dedication through basketball, this is the program for you.
