The Ansonia Youth Football teams made it a sweep of the first Western Ohio Youth Football League Superbowl. This is the first season of the league which held the superbowl games at Dixie high school. The JV team defeated National Trail to win the championship and the varsity team held on to defeat Tri Village 26-25 in a thrilling contest. This is the first time that both teams have won the championship in the same season.

Registration papers for the 2021 season will be in schoo this month. Any Ansonia or Mv student in grades 2-6 are eligible to play. We have 2 teams grades 2-4 are the junior varsity and grades 5-6 are varsity. Home games this season will be on Saturday nights Jv at 5 pm varsity at 7 pm. Away games will be on Sundays at 2 and 4 pm.

The Ansonia youth junior varsity and varsity football teams participated in the 2nd annual Lucas Oil Red Zone games at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis Indiana,The varsity faced New Prairie, Wawasee,Granger, and North Miami. The junio varsity faced Greensburg, Princeton, Hagerstown, and Fremont. The red zone games were started to give small town teams a chance to live out their dream of playing on a NFL field. Teams played offense for 4 minutes then played defense for 4 minutes. Offense started on the 20 yard line of the red zone which meant running a no huddle offense. Both teams ended the year playing their best football in Indy. The kids got red zone games t-shirts and parents were able to purchase DVDS of the game. The varsity was able to take a tour of the stadium as well. We would like to thank the parents for allowing us to play and the Ansonia American  Legion for their support to be able to make this possible for our teams. We hope to be able to go back next year depending on our schedule. Also keep a eye out for early bird registration papers to be in the Ansonia and MV schools in January any kids in grade 2-6 is eligible to play.
