The Ansonia youth junior varsity and varsity football teams participated in the 2nd annual Lucas Oil Red Zone games at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis Indiana,The varsity faced New Prairie, Wawasee,Granger, and North Miami. The junio varsity faced Greensburg, Princeton, Hagerstown, and Fremont. The red zone games were started to give small town teams a chance to live out their dream of playing on a NFL field. Teams played offense for 4 minutes then played defense for 4 minutes. Offense started on the 20 yard line of the red zone which meant running a no huddle offense. Both teams ended the year playing their best football in Indy. The kids got red zone games t-shirts and parents were able to purchase DVDS of the game. The varsity was able to take a tour of the stadium as well. We would like to thank the parents for allowing us to play and the Ansonia American Legion for their support to be able to make this possible for our teams. We hope to be able to go back next year depending on our schedule. Also keep a eye out for early bird registration papers to be in the Ansonia and MV schools in January any kids in grade 2-6 is eligible to play.

Ansonia Youth Football J.V and Varsity football players got to live out the dream of playing on a N.F.L field on November 5 by competing in the Red Zone Games at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapoils. This was the first year that the games were held in Indy ,they have been played for years in Dallas at the home of the Dallas Cowboys with the number of teams growing each year causing the Red Zone officials to look at expanding to a second location. The Tigers played teams from Fremont,Tipton,Logansport, and New Praire Indiana.
Coaches and parents agreed this was a amazing experience for the teams and coaches to play at Lucas Oil Stadium. The players and coaches all received Red Zone Game T-shirts and parents and fans were able to purchase DVD's of the tigers games. Red Zone Game organizers are hoping to make the games at Indy a yearly event and add more teams each year as have in Dallas and theTigers will definitely be back it was a great day for all involved
