Barron Youth Softball Association introduces the game of Fastpitch Softball to young players in the Barron Area School.  Barron Youth Softball Association belongs to the Girls Indianhead Regional League of Softball.  3rd - 8th grade will travel to local communities to play games.  Coaches are volunteer parents teaching the love of the game and skills to these girls and building a future for the Barron Golden Girls High School Fastpitch program.


Divisions and Tournaments: 

          3rd & 4th Grade – Games held on Monday/Wednesdays at 5:30pm. 

    League Tournament is the 4th  weekend in June.

          5th & 6th Grade – Games held on Monday/Wednesdays at 7:00 pm.

    League Tournament is the 3rd Weekend in June.

          7th & 8th Grade – Games held on Tuesday/Thursdays at 6:00 pm. 

     League Tournament is the 2nd Weekend in June. 


1st & 2nd Grade – At this time, we are not offering this age group.  Check out the rec programs at BACC. The City of Rice Lake also offers the younger grades softball program that many Barron players have played in the past.






2019 Registrations window closed!


REQUIRED FOR ALL PLAYERS: All Players must have uniform, black pants, maroon socks.  Uniform top is available through ordering in the Northwood's link. Northwood's Promotions offer an option for purchase black pants and maroon socks.


VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT:  Our main fundraising will be the concession stand for 2019.  We will also have a Tshirt and other fundraisers.  Each family 3-8th grade will be required to volunteer during a home game during the season. Concessions schedule will be coordinated once game schedules are out.  Each family will provide a $50 volunteer check to be held until requirement is fulfilled. This check MUST be separate from your registration fee. Check will be cashed at the end of the season if family member does not work. Player will not practice/play until the check is provided.


1. Register Online and Pay by March 30.

2. Order Uniform by March 30.

3. Submit $50 Volunteer check by 1st Practice.

4. Order some awesome Fundraising T-shirts and

Sweatshirts for the family by March 30.

Barron Uniform Top is required, black softball pants, Maroon socks. Visor is optional. (Pants and socks can be purchased through Northwoods or other stores.)

 Payment submitted welcomed by handing in at sign-up night on March 1st, online CC or mailed in.  Registration will be open through March 23rd.  Any late registrations will go on a waitlist and subject to a $10 late fee, pending Board approval to the team.  Checks written to Barron Youth Softball. Volunteer Check ($50) and Registration Check MUST be separate checks. If mailing check in, please send immediately to:   TBD for 2020 year.

Pitchers/Catchers report early.


2019 Pitching/Catching Practices:  

All Pitchers and Catchers report to indoor practice/practices at RVMS gym for grades 4th-8th:
   Sunday March 24th - 3 to 5 pm
   Sunday March 31st - 3 to 5 pm
   Sunday April 7th - 3 to 5 pm
** Pending #'s, parents encouraged to help play catch.
** Catching equipment and specific drills will also be worked on during this time as well. Past Catchers report!
** We would like to see coaches as well attend when possible to help with technique/throwing/warm ups.
Beginning pitchers clinic during the above hours on March 24/31st will start at 3:15 after players warm up their arms. (approximately 30 mintutes).  We have a pitching coach attending to work with both beginners and advanced.  This is for players that have not pitched in a game yet, or at at any age work on the basics. This will also be for all 3-8th graders. It's not too late to learn.

2019 Volunteer Concession Signups will be posted after the Schedules are completed by May.  Each family will be assigned a day, if you do not sign up.  You will be responsible for covering that game.

Volunteer for Concessions:   First Come, First Serve.   Please note: if you have not turned in your Volunteer Check by first practice, your daughter can not play.


a.      You should be able to access this without a google drive account once it is available.

b.      Please put your name in the Worker 1 or Worker 2 spot under your own players team.  If all shifts are full by the time you are signed, please call TBD to be added to one of the games.

c.       You must be 16 to work in the concessions stand.

d.      If you have more than one player, you only need to work one of the games to fulfill your duties.   We may require which team you will cover pending #'s.

e.      If you sign up and don’t show up for that shift, you will forfeit your check. 

f.        If you sign up and cannot make it, you need to find another parent to work your shift or forfeit your check.

g.      If you sign up and the game gets rescheduled, your shift will move to that game, or forfeit your check.


h.      Opening Concessions – Please arrive 30 minutes prior to game time.  Please do not leave stand until a coach can lock up and take the money from the stand.  All other directions are in the concession stand. 

i.       Closing Concessions - Please follow the clean up directions.  Stay in stand until coach comes to lock doors and take the money box.
