Beekman Basketball has a website!

Welcome and we hope you enjoy the site and our league.

Please feel free to email the league with any questions or concerns: beekmanbasketball@gmail.com

Here are some FAQs (UPDATED 10/11/2017):

1)  How is league age / player division determined?

==> The league is organized by grade level (Arlington School District standards).

2)  How many teams / divisions are there?

==>  We expect to have the following divisions (school grade) based on prior years enrollment.  This may change depending on the number of players who register.

Boys : 1st & 2nd (Instructional), 3rd & 4th,  5th & 6th, 7th & 8th, HS (9-12)

Girls : 1st & 2nd (Instructional), 3rd & 4th,  5th - 7th, HS* (8-12)

3)  What does the league provide?

==>  The league will provide jerseys, for those who need them - at a small additional charge ($10/jersey).  Minimum of one (1) game or practice per week from November until March.

4)  How do I find out about game schedule / changes / cancellations?

==>  The league schedule will be posted online and each of the coaches will also communicate details to their teams.  Any cancellations or changes will be communicated through the coaches or, if sufficient time permits, through the online schedule.

5)  Where  are the games played?

==>  Home games are played at Beekman Elementary, Vail Farm Elementary or Union Vale Middle school.  Each division will typically play at only one of those gyms for the entire season.   Older divisions (usually HS) may play inter-town games and have away games in either East Fishkill, Pleasant Valley, LaGrange or other locations (TBD).

6)  How are teams chosen?

==>  There is a player evaluation where each player is assessed by all the coaches in each division.  The coaches then hold a player draft to make the league competitive / fair.

7)  When do I know what team my son/daughter is on?

==>  After the draft is completed each of the coaches will contact their entire team to discuss the schedule and introduce themselves.

8)  What times / days are the games played?

==>  Games are weeknights (M-F) at either 6:15pm or 7:30pm.   There is NOT a set night of the week for your team.  The night of the week that your team plays will vary week-to-week.  This minimizes the chances of hard conflicts (religious education, other sports, etc.) which would make participation impossible for some players.
