2018 Bulldog Battle

The weather for the 2018 Bulldog Battle was very cold, but the boys fought through it and shot some great scores! Despite the weather the staff at WingHaven provided a fantastic venue for the tournament and the staff had everything set up really well as usual.   The field continues to include some of the top teams and players in St. Louis and around the state.   The individual title was won by Zach Walsh with a 69 (-3), which was 5 shots clear of the field.  Nick Heimann (FZE) finished second with a 74.  For the first time in Battle history the team title had to be decided by a playoff.  Both Chaminade and DeSmet shot 306 which forced extra holes.  Each team sent two player to the 18th tee then added the scores together after the hole.  DeSmet won the playoff on the first playoff hole and captured the team title. The entire 2018 team results can be found by clicking on the "PAGES" tab above.

Tournament Purpose

The Bulldog Battle at WingHaven was created in order for high school players to gain experience for the Missouri State Championship Tournament. We try to create the same atmosphere during our event that players will experience at State. This includes using starters on the first tee to announce each player, having key handouts for players such as a Notice To Competitors and Pin Sheets, and using highly qualified USGA rules officials to help the players make proper rulings as well as keep the official watch on Pace of Play.
