Dumont Selzer boys and girls remain undefeated in league play
The Dumont Selzer boys and girls and the Maywood boys and girls are both a combined 6-0 in league play and are scheduled to face off this week in BYBL play. As we head into mid January, the standings are starting to take shape and teams are starting to separate themselves before the playoffs begin in early February.
South Hackensack boys win South Hackensack Tournament
The South Hackensack boys had a 3-0 week with wins over Dwight Englewood, Sacred Heart and Little Ferry to earn the championship in their Tournament. The Championship game was a battle of two BYBL teams as Little Ferry finished the tournament in second place by going 2-1 on the week. The final game was close the whole way with the Bulldogs pulling out the win.
BYBL hits full swing with 3 league games Monday
Maywood went into Dumont and took a double header from Dumont Honiss in the first action of the year for Dumont. Both Maywood teams jumped out early and held on for big leads throughout.
The Teaneck Charter girls improved to 2-0 with a big win at BASCS. BASCS was 2-0 on the year before suffering their first loss of the season. The BASCS boys improved to 3-0 with a win against the Teaneck Charter boys.
The Little Ferry Royals boys team picked up their first win of the year with a 20 point win over East Rutherford. The win improves Little Ferry to 1-1 in league play. The East Rutherford boys fell to 0-4 in league play.

Little Ferry Tournament Results for BYBL Teams
In the opening round of the Little Ferry Tournament, South Hackensack and Little Ferry played a wild game to get it started. The LF Royals jumped out to a 6 point lead after the first quarter but the SH Bulldogs responded in the second quarter to take a 7 point halftime lead. Little Ferry took a one point lead with just over a minute to go and South Hack took the lead for good with 50 seconds to go and held on for a 31-30 win.
South Hackensack followed that win with tough losses to Fort Lee and Ridgefield Park that should prepare them for league play. The Bulldogs fought hard all week!
The Little Ferry boys will play St. Joes Bogota on Monday December 9.
The Little Ferry girls raced out fast and had a comfortable win against the South Hackensack girls. Little Ferry lost the next two nights to Fort Lee and Ben Franklin but showed they have a very good team this year and should be a BYBL force. The South Hackensack girls fell to 1-1 and will play Woodridge on Monday December 9.
The Maywood boys lost in the opening round to Ridgefield Park by 5 in a close game throughout. Maywood will play Thomas Jefferson of Teaneck on Monday December 9.
The Maywood girls finished in 2nd place of the Little Ferry Tournament after wins over Ridgefield Park and Ben Franklin Middle School before losing to the Fort Lee girls in the championship game.
South Hackensack sweeps Alpine
The South Hackensack girls kicked off the season in dramatic fashion as they beat Alpine with a half court three pointer as time expired. Down by 1 with the ball and 10 seconds left, Ashley unleashes the halfcourt missile that banks off the backboard and in.
The South Hackensack boys were paced by 4 scorers in double digits as they beat Alpine.
Both bulldog teams return to action vs Little Ferry in the Little Ferry Holiday Tournament.
Schedules posted and the League is ready to start in a few weeks

Now that schedules are close to being finalized, we can see that it is almost basketball season.
With the Little Ferry Tournament starting on December 2, we are not far away from game play.
