757 Cavs Debut With A Win Over 804 Warriors

May 19, 2018 – 01:00 PM

In their much anticipated debut, the newly christened 757 Cavaliers, led by Elder Ronnie Joyner, II and Pastor Tyrone Jackson, traveled to Dinwidee County, Virginia to accept the challenge of the team from that area known as the 804 Warriors.   The game was held at the old Dinwiddee High School, and the crowd there was fired up and ready to go. The game was high in energy throughout,  but in the end, the Cavs prevailed by the score of 90-73.  Cavs guard Minister Maurice Yancey led the Cavs with a game high 37 points, and eight three pointers.  He was named the game's MVP.  For the Warriors, the high point man was Rev. Hilton Bowles.  The buildup to this game was epic, from mock press conferences, to mock interviews, even contract signings.  The game was also a fundraiser for a scholarship fund sponsored by the United Churches of Dinwidee County.  Both teams were competitive and came together like brothers after the game concluded.  A touching moment occured when Tyrone Jackson presented the championship trophy to Ronnie Joyner, II.  Plans have already started for the 804 to make the trip to the 757.  Whenever it happens, it's sure to be another exciting contest.
