Cedar Creek Baseball/Softball Rules 2026
General to all ages
-
If rule is not listed below please refer to National/Local NCS rulebook. Our League Rules are modified yearly to benefit our Recreational league.
-
Lightning rule is 8 mile radius 20 minutes on lightning delay. Resets if lightning occurs within 8 miles in that 20 min window
-
Commissioners will try to let coaches/parents know in a reasonable amount of time if the game is canceled due to weather. Rule of thumb is always assume it will be played until you have been told by a Commissioner or Coach that it is canceled.
- Must start with atleast 7 players. Umpire and opposing team must be notified. If players show up they must be added to the roster immediately and umpire and opposing coach must be notified. No players can play for opposing team during that game if they are short of players and be considered an actual game. Team that is short of players must play with a full infield. Open positions must be in outfield
- Scorekeeper needs to put in official book if a forfeit is taking place.
- The official scorekeeper for the home team must score for the home and visitors team
- Coaches must sign books at the end of each game to approve final score
-
Max runs scored is 7 per inning
-
Run Rule is 15 after 3 innings, 10 after 4 innings
- 6u/8u/10u/12u are 5 Inning games and 14u Boys/15u Girls are 7 inning games
- A game is considered completed if over half of the game has been played. Ex. 6u boys a completed game would be after 3 completed innings
-
All Beginning of Season Weeks/Tournaments and End of Season Tournaments will be $5 Cash for adults and $3 Cash for Kids/Seniors/First Responders
- 1 team warning will be given for a thrown bat after a batted ball. The next will be an Out for the batter and a dead ball will be called
- A courtesy runner is allowed for the Pitcher and Catcher Only. The last batted out must be the courtesy runner. If during the 1st inning this occurs with no outs then the player furthest down the line up from the runner being replaced will be the base runner.
-
If time limit runs out we will finish the inning
- Every team must but the full line up during the regular season. Do not have to during End of Season Tournament
-
End of Season Tournament seedings will be based on regular season standings

Pitcher fields ball in front of rubber with bases loaded is OK to go and touch home but can not run down a runner thats going from 2nd to 3rd base. Pitcher can make tag on runner if batted ball that is fielded is hit in the direction of runner that is being tagged. That would be considered a "baseball play" Ex. Ball hit of tee is hit between the pitchers circle and 1st base, the pitcher is allowed to field that ball and can tag the runner running to 1st base if possible. That would be considered an actual "baseball play" in the flow of the play.
