Both last year’s Challenge Cup finalists got off to strong starts on the opening day of Challenge Cup play.In Corner Brook, two goals from Zach Wade and a shut out performance from Grant Abbot in goal led Holy Cross Kirby Group to a 3-0 win. In St. Lawrence, Mike Howlett proved too much for St. John’s U-18’s Capital Hyundai, scoring four times, with John Grant adding two more, as St. Lawrence Labatt Laurentians won 6-1.
