Pitcher Runner Rule
Temporary Runner for use of Pitchers with Protective Pitching Equipment
A temporary runner may be used for the pitcher if he/she is on base with two (2) outs and is using protective equipment (protective equipment a pitcher must remove during an at bat IE: pitching helmets, shin pads or chest protection). This rule only applies to the pitcher if he/she was the pitcher at the end of the previous inning or was declared to be the starting pitcher to the home plate umpire at the top of the first inning.
o The temporary runner must be of the same gender as the pitcher,
o Once a pitcher uses a temporary runner, he/she MUST continue to use a runner for the remainder of the game and only with two (2) outs,
o If a pitcher refuses to use a temporary runner, he/she MAY NOT use a temporary runner for the remainder of the game,
o A temporary runner will not be counted as a courtesy runner, if in use the runner can be any person on the team’s roster in proper team uniform,
o If the temporary runner is in the line-up and on base when there at bat comes up, a courtesy runner must be used and will count towards there courtesy runner max usage, if no courtesy runners are available, an out will occur.
League Rosters
When adding players to your roster
- print off blank roster sheet
- make sure team name, division and date are noted
- have new player fill out and sign
- hand into League office or concession before your game.
If your roster already has 25 players, please indicate which player is to be removed on the new sheet.
Bat testing resumes
Bat testing will resume this week from 5:00-5:45 and after early games when possible.
Please note: there is a $5 testing fee per bat. NIW (new in wrapper) bats and bats with damaged stickers will be tested free of charge. All bat testing fees collected will be donated to KidSport Calgary at the end of the season. There will be a high demand this week so plan accordingly.
Remember that we also work and play in the league and need to get to and from our games.
Also remember that both teams need to submit scores for all games within 24 hours.
CMLC League Casino 2025 - Volunteers needed!
The Park/League needs volunteers for a Casino event on July 10th and 11th this year.
The funds help offset the costs of equipment repairs and field upgrades, and therefore help keep league fees down. There are day and night shifts required on both days. So if anyone can volunteer, it would be greatly appreciated!
Please contact cmlc@outlook.com if you can help us out.
