The 2026 NABF World Series has come to its end.  The winner this year was the Lombard Orioles out of Chicago.  
The Berea Blue Sox went 1-2 in pool play and did not advance to the playoff stage.

On the other hand, in their first ever trip to the NABF WS, Los Marlins de CLE went 2-1 in their pool and ended up winning their pool and taking the #3 overall seed into the playoffs.  In the quarterfinal game They faced the Hackensack Troasts who put up 7 runs in the first 2 innings and the Marlins were unable to get over that hump, eventually falling to Hackensack 11-3.  Congratulations to the Marlins on making it to the playoff stage in their first ever trip to the WS, that is an incredible achievement!  Also congratulations to the Berea Blue Sox for their great season and solid showing in the WS.  

Los Marlins De CLE started their Youngstown Regional with a bang, beating the Youngstown Cardinals 12-0.  Yordany Reinoso surrendered only 1 hit in the big W.
Led by 5 strong innings from Robinson "El Ace" Reyes on the hill, Day 2 brought another decisive victory for the Marlins.  Only 6 innings were needed to decide this game as in regional tournaments the mercy rule is 8 runs after 6 innings.  An offensive lightshow paired with lights out pitching led the Marlins to a 9-1 W.  

Winning their first 2 games put the Marlins into the championship where they would square off against Debo's up 1-0 in a best of 3 because Debo's was coming out of the losers bracket.  It only took 1 more game for this series to conclude.  The marlins won in a well pitched affair 3-1.  Calvin Andringa tossed 5 solid innings with Reyes coming back on 1 nights rest to get the 4 inning save.

In the Buffalo, NY Regional Tournament, The Fairview Cardinals also started with a big W topping the Niagara Stars 7-1 behind a dominant 12K performance by Andrew Reynolds.

Day 2 pitted the Cardinals against last years Tourney Champion Erie-Buffalo.  Hits were brutal to come by as Erie-Buffalo's pitcher surrendered only 1.  The Cardinals would end up losing 5-0

With the goofy format of a 5-team tournament, the Cardinals ended up facing the Niagara Stars again on Day 3.  This game was much closer than day 1 but in the end, the young guns of the Cards led the offense and Mike Barry tossed 6 impressive innings and the Cards prevailed 8-5.  

The goofy format of the 5-team tourney came into play again as after their first 3 games, the Cardinals were the only team remaining that hadn't received a bye.  This meant that with their W over the Stars they advanced to the tournament championship.  Unlike the Marlins though, the Cardinals started the best of 3 down 1-0 once again facing Erie-Buffalo.  This one unfortunately would also only take one more game.  After being up 3-1 early on following a mammoth HR by Dan Kraus, the Cardinals couldn't scrape together any more runs.  Erie-Buffalo took advantage of a few Cardinals errors and ended up running away with the championship game 11-3.

The Double Elimination Tournament is underway and already brought fireworks in the very first game.  

The first game pitted the Fairview Cardinals against Los Marlins de CLE.  The game was tied 1-1 going into the bottom of the 7th inning when with the bases loaded and 1 out, Brendan Spaulding blooped a single into RF to walk it off for the Marlins.  Was a fantastic pitching matchup with 2 of the leagues best squaring off - Dan Kraus for the Cards and Yordany Reinoso for the Marlins.  In the end, the Marlins emerged victorious.

Game 2 was the Indians all the way.  The game ended after 5 innings due to the 10 run mercy rule with the Indians winning 13-3 over Goathouse. 

After their exciting walkoff victory the Marlins kept the momentum right on going and dominated the first winners bracket game against the indians.  The game was cut 1 inning short due to the mercy rule with the marlins winning 18-5 after 6 innings.  The Marlins now advance to the championship series and have earned themselves one of the bids to an NABF Regional tournament.  Congrats to the Marlins!

The 1st losers bracket game between the Cardinals and Goathouse brought even more fireworks to the elim tourney.  The game was back and forth the entire time and needed 2 extra frames to decide the outcome.  The Cardinals got a walkoff single in the bottom of the 9th by Hugh Sullivan to win 9-8 thus eliminating Goathouse from the tourney.  The Cardinals will now face the CLE Indians on monday 7/13 in a 1 game decider to see who earns the other NABF Tourney bid and gets to face the Marlins in the Elim tourney championship.

The 1 game decider between the Cardinals and Indians was all cardinals from the start.  They jumped out to a 3 run lead in the first inning and never looked back, taking down the Indians 14-3.  With that win, the Cardinals have earned the other regional tournament bid and will face the Marlins in a best of 3 series (already down 0-1 due to coming out of the losers bracket) to determine who gets to choose their regional tourney.  With this loss, the Indians' season has come to an end.

The best of 3 between the Marlins and Cardinals turned out to be absoloutely action packed.   Their game a week prior was dominated by pitching and the first game of the championship also was.  The game was 2-2 until late when the Marlins took a 3-2 lead on a solo home run by Gabriel Vargas off of Dan Kraus.  The Cardinals refused to go down quietly though as Kraus got his revenge by leading off the top of the 7th inning with solo home run to tie the game at 3.  Johnny Costella singled, stole second and then scored the go-ahead run on a Hugh Sullivan single.  Kraus then struck out the side in the 7th to give the Cardinals a 4-3 win and force a final game 3.
That final game 3 was Marlins right out of the rip.  After the Cardinals scored 1 in the top of the 1st, the Marlins scored 7 in the bottom half and never looked back.  The Cardinals tried to claw their way back but faced a very tough duo in Yordany Reinoso and Robinson Reyes.  In the end, the Marlins prevailed 10-5 making them the Double-Elim tourney champions and giving them the choice of which regional tournament they would like to go to.

The Marlins have chosen to represent the Cuyahoga County AAA in the Youngstown, OH regional which starts on Thursday 7/23/2026 and the Cardinals for the 3rd year in a row will be representing the league in the Buffalo, NY regional tournament which starts on that same day.  Good luck to both squads in their respective regionals and great season to all the teams in the league!

Great job ballin' out in the playoffs guys!

In the blink of an eye, the 2026 regular season has come to its end.  With their 6-1 victory over the Marlins in the last game of the season, the Berea Blue Sox have captured their unprecedented 20th consecutive league championship.  Congratulations to the Blue Sox on their league title and also for their continued success.

No time for anyone to rest though (besides the Blue Sox).  The remaining 4 teams in the league start the double-elimination post-season tournament to determine who will earn the 2 regional tournament bids that the league has.  The action starts tonight (7/7/2026) with Los Marlins de Cleveland hosting the Fairview Cardinals at Foltz Parkway at 6:30 PM.  Immediately afterwards, the CLE Indians will play host to Goathouse.  Best of luck to all teams in the double elimination tournament! 

Also, best of luck once again to the Berea Blue Sox in this years NABF World Series in Naperville, IL.  They have an automatic bid into that which starts the week of 8/27/2026.  

Just so everyone is aware, League Lineup which is the application that this website is run on is going to be retired at the end of August 2026 so the website will need to be moved to a different platform after this season.  Updates in the future to come on where this will be moved but this entire season can be followed right here!

The Cuyahoga County AAA baseball league was founded in 1975 and is based out of Strongsville, Ohio.  2026 will mark the 52nd season of the league! It is a semi-pro wooden bat baseball league with players age 18 and over possessing a wide variety of playing experience from high school to collegiate to former professional players all included.  It was on the forefront of leagues switching to wood bats as 2001 marked the year of the change.  The Cuyahoga AAA is affiliated with the National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF). The league features the 2023 NABF World Series Champions the Berea Blue Sox.  The Blue Sox are now three time champions having also won the World Series in 2019 and 2021 and have a 2025 Runner-up finish as well.  The World Series currently is played in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.  The league has two bids to the NABF Regional Tournaments up for grabs each year.  Locations for those tournaments are TBD as they are picked in the spring prior to the start of the season.  The winners of those regional tournaments advance to the World Series.  

The AAA is currently comprised of 5 teams.  The Berea Blue Sox, Fairview Cardinals, Indians, Cleveland Marlins, and Goathouse.  The home field for the league is a community field on Foltz Industrial Parkway in Strongsville however any team can secure their own home field if they so choose and a few teams have done that.  Currently the Blue Sox use North Olmsted High School, the Fairview Cardinals use Bohlken Park in Fairview Park, the Marlins use JFK Field in Brook Park, and Goathouse now uses Avon Lake High School.  

The league features many current and former collegiate players and also some former professional players.  It has a wealth of talent and hopefully has some future professionals.  The league is a non-profit league and each team funds itself for the season through sponsorships, fundraisers, donations, and individual player fees. With the conclusion of the home run derby, the 2025 Cuyahoga County AAA Season has officially come to an end.  It was another incredible year for the league with tons of highlights (see links on the right of the page).  Long story short, Blue Sox win their 19th league title in a row, Indians win the post-season playoff with the Cardinals taking the runner-up spot.  The Indians and Blue Sox both earned bids to the NABF World Series which ended in disappointment for them both despite incredible showings.  The home run derby was tweaked a little bit and it ended up working out very well.  The crowd was big and the showing by the contestants was incredible. 
The push also continues for each team in the league to have a bigger and better online/social media presence.  The league now has a well established facebook page and the Indians have one of their own as well.  The Marlins and Goathouse have solidified their presence on instagram and the Marlins also had a hype video made by a freelance videographer with clips from throughout their season.

The 2024 Cuyahoga County AAA season has come to its end but what a year it was.  Plenty of headline news for the league (see links on the right side of the page for full details).   Just to name a few highlights, the Goathouse Goats had a solid first season in the league, the Blue Sox continued their league dominance with their 18th consecutive AAA title, 2 teams earned bids to the NABF World Series and we enjoyed a great showing at the 2nd annual home run derby which drew a record crowd.  This was also the inagural season for the league website which has already inspired a push towards a much better technological presence along with social media presence. 

For anyone that is looking to start a team of their own or for any individual player looking to join a team scroll down to find the contact info for league commissioner Mike Faile.  This offseason we will be working towards starting a free-agent pool/list for anyone that would like to play but doesn't have an in anywhere yet.  

Thank you to all the managers who helped make this season possible.  The behind the scenes effort is what helps make the Cuyahoga County AAA truly great!  We hope that everyone enjoys their off-season and look forward to making 2025 the best year yet for the league!
