Spring 2018 Sunday Ball League Season Starts April 8
April 7, 2018 - The Eastern Connecticut Roller Hockey League opens the Spring 2018 Sunday Ball League season on Sunday, April 8th, with all 10 teams in action. In the first game, AEN Asphalt will begin their title defense against the up and coming Carl's Cronies. At 10:00AM, Lost Souls will start their run towards a second playoff berth as they take on the always tough Electric Boat Athletic Club. The day's third game will feature a reloaded Navy Silent Snipers, who will look to start their season with a victory over The Replacements. At 12PM, both teams will look to put their new name in the win column as Berserkers, formerly known as River Rats will face the former Smith's Acres, now Junkyard Dogs. Closing out the day will be another team with a new name taking on a familiar foe as the former Voodoo Grill, now Yeti takes on their rival Hayes Services at 1PM.

Murnane Backstops Cronies to Win; Leads Week 3 Highlights
September 17, 2017 - Facing the high powered offense of The Replacements, Sean Murnane turned in a game changing 22 save performance, leading his team to a 4-2 victory. Erik Faxon held the hot hand for the Cronies, tallying all four goals, while Chris Simpkins and Josh Davis each contributed an assist. Tony LaVerde and Chris Giacomazzo each scored for The Replacements. Other Week 3 highlights include a 3 goal, 2 assist outing from Justin Maryeski as Voodoo Grill defeated Smith Acres 10-3, Max Kneeland with 5 goals and an assist as AEN Asphalt rolled over Lost Souls 10-3, A hat trick for Corby Stedman as Nowakowski Painting downed Navy Silent Snipers 6-4, and 4 goals from a substituting Greg Felber as Hayes Services edged Electric Boat Athletic Club 8-6.
The ECRHL Remembers Emily Eshenfelder
September 5, 2017 - On what would have been her 29th birthday, the ECRHL pauses to reflect on the memory of Emily Eshenfelder. "Em" was a fierce competitor and beloved friend of her teammates and fellow league participants. Emily's memory lives on at the Groton Hockey Rink and through a memorial scholarship established at her alma mater Waterford High School. This scholarship is awarded in May to a Waterford High Senior who posses positivity, kindness and leadership in athletics. Last April, the ECRHL participants raised $1000, and plans are in place for another fundraiser in the Spring. Donations in Emily's memory can be made payable to the WHS Scholarship Fund and on the memo line please write Emily Eshenfelder Scholarship. Max Kneeland's Hat Trick Tops Week 1 Highlights
August 27, 2017 - Led by a 3 goal, 1 assist outing by Max Kneeland, AEN Asphalt opened up their Fall 2017 Sunday Ball League season with a 5-3 win over Voodoo Grill. Greg Felber and Seamus Moran each picked up a goal, while Chris Turner added 2 assists. Justin Maryeski returned to the Voodoo Grill lineup after an extended absence and contributed a goal and an assist in the losing effort. Other Week 1 highlights include a 4 goal, 4 assist outing for AJ Ray in his debut for Lost Souls, who routed Navy Silent Snipers 13-3, Shawn Prevost tallying 3 goals and an assist as Hayes Services downed Smith's Acres 11-2, Nowakowski Painting captain Josh Lecy with a hat trick and assist in a 6-3 win over The Replacements, and Erik Faxon with a hat trick and assist for Carl's Cronies as they defeated Electric Boat Athletic Club 7-2. Sound Home Builders Capture Spring 2017 Richard Cobb Memorial Cup Title
July 16, 2017 - Sound Home Builders tallied their 3rd Richard Cobb Memorial Cup title by defeating the defending champions, AEN Asphalt, with a 9-1 rout. Mike Forbornick tallied a hat trick, Mike Hall picked up 2 goals and an assist, and Tyler Haling and AJ Ray each contributed 2 assists. Strong goaltending from Steve Dennis kept the high powered AEN offense off the board through the first two period, turning away 10 of 11 shots overall.
AEN Asphalt Wins Fifth Annual Steve Lambert Memorial Tournament White Division
September 25, 2016 - AEN Asphalt captured the White Division title in the Fifth Annual Steve Lambert Memorial Tournament this past weekend. AEN posted a 5-1 record and entered the elimination round as the top seed where they defeated the Broome County Blades in the semifinals and Mystery in the championship round. Congratulations to (L-R) Coach Danny Klarmann, Nico Zarrillo, Seth Cohen, Justin Maryeski, Chris Degen, Brett Skibba, Nate Adelman, Chris Turner, Max Kneeland and Greg Felber.
