2022 Summer Swim Season Cancelled

To all Fairfield Swim Team Members and Families,

 I regret to inform you that the Fairfield Homeowners Association Board voted not to host the Fairfield Area Swim Team this summer. While the Georgia Parks and Recreation Association is moving forward with their summer swim season, several of the communities that make up the Southern Crescent Swim League are not hosting teams for their communities this summer.

 Coach Mike and some others are working on ideas to hold relays to allow interested swimmers to qualify for the District meets this summer, and we will push out any additional information we learn about those efforts.

 It was my hope that we would be able to gather at the pool for fun, instruction, and competition.  If you are a resident/member of the Fairfield Homeowners Association, please consider letting your board know that you want them to host the team.  Contacting them should go a long way in convincing them to host a summer team.

The Fairfield Area Swim Team (FAST) is a member of the Southern Crescent Swim League (SCSL), a competitive recreational league designed for swimmers ages 5-18.
FAST is dedicated to improving each swimmer’s fitness level, improving stroke proficiency, and providing each swimmer the opportunity to participate in timed meets.

 Swimmers should be able to swim at least one competitive stroke 25 yards with minimal assistance.

 

Regular Swim Season is May–June with swim meets on Thursdays or Saturdays. District and State Swim Meets for those who qualify are in July.

 

FAST, located in Jonesboro between Carnes and Noah's Ark roads, is open to all swimmers interested in a summer swim team experience. 
 
Swimmers are separated into training groups based on age and skill. Practices are Monday through Thursday with a modified practice schedule for Thursday meets.

Piranhas (novice): 8:30-9:30 am

Barracudas (intermediate): 8:30-9:30 am

Sharks (advanced): 8:30-10:30 am

Friday, July 12: League Championship @ Steve Lundquist Aquatic Center

Friday & Saturday, July 19 & 20: GRPA State Meet @ Cherokee Aquatic Center (swimmers must qualify)

Sunday, July 21: FAST Party
