Federation League Finals - Game 6

The DuBois Rockets are Federation League Champions of the WORLD!!!!! Chaos ensued on the streets of DuBois as the Rockets defeated the Sykesville Senators 5-2 in a game that took 8 innings to complete.

The Rockets launched in the top of the first off Senators starter, Brandon Simbeck, with 2 runs.  Thayne Morgan doubled and scored, later Sean Zimmerman singled and scored.  The Senators diverted the Rockets for the next 6 innings holding them scoreless.  Adam Fox came in relief and helped stop the Rockets in their tracks.  Fox threw 3 innings allowing 3 hits and striking out 3.

The scrappy Senators fought back and tied things up in the bottom of the 5th.  Austin Blauser and Brandon "Scary" Sicheri scored on a single from Devon Walker.  Awww yeah, this was turning into an instant classic!

The Rockets starting pitcher, Brandon Orsich, was focused and put the Rockets on his back.  Orsich was tough!  He threw a complete 8 inning game holding the Senators to only 3 hits.  Orsich allowed 8 freebies (4 of those were to Fox; 3 intentional and 1 bean ball) to the Senators who could not get "that hit" to drive in runs (the story of their season).

In the top of the 8th, Senators reliever, Jude "GOAT" Lander, ran into trouble.  The Rockets scored 3 runs off 4 hits and 4 freebies.  The Zimmerman brothers led the 8th inning offense with a couple hits from some other guys.

That was more than enough for Orsich as he sent the Sens down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 8th to win the series and win the World title!  The Rockets and their fans erupted, the team created a giant man pile on the infield!!

Congratulations to the DuBois Rockets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Also, congratulations to the Sykesville Senators on a SENSational season!!!!!!

(PS - My apologize if this is not how it happened.  I wasn't there.  Took the night off to celebrate my 15th anniversary with my wife)
