Grade 1

Similar to Tee Ball the girls will meet for one hour on Saturdays in the afternoon from April to June and work on the fundamentals of softball with an emphasis on fun.  They will be playing other towns this year with a clinic setting for first half hour and a game the second half hour in an effort to get them more hands on time.

Intertown Softball League for Second & Third Grade - an intertown league for girls in 2nd and 3rd grade, (grades 2 & 3 will play on a combined team), with a focus on learning the fundamentals of softball.  There is one practice and one game per week.  Games are anticipated to be 75 minutes.

LITTLE LEAGUE (Baseball and Softball), Ages 9 & Over

Important Note about LL Division Age Eligibility: Little League has strict age requirements determined by birth date.  For Softball, players must be the designated age by Dec 31 of the prior year (i.e., for  Spring 2018, age as of 12/31/17).  In TRLL Softball post-season, your child may only try out for the LL Age Division she is eligible for by birth date, regardless of what division she played during the regular season.  In any case, if your child is old for the grade and wishes to "play down" with his classmates, this requires special permission from the TRLL Board (for safety reasons), and he/she will not be eligible for post-season play.  There will be no age exceptions given to the Softball 13-16year team, as that team plays LL teams outside TRLL during the regular season.

TRLL strongly encourages players to register and play during the regular season according to Little League Eligibility Rules.

LL Post Season Play - In addition to the specifications listed in the Age Eligibility section above, there are several requirements for post-season eligibility.  Players must participate in a minimum of 75% of regular season games in order to be eligible for post-season tryouts.  Post season runs mid-June through July, depending on division.  A player must commit to attending all practices and games in post-season to be eligible for tryouts.  Birth certificates and proof of residency, such as a current utility bill, will be required for post-season players.  Post-season teams will be selected according to a competitive tryout.  Tryouts may be open to all who are eligible OR by nomination process, as determined by TRLL Board.  Tryouts anticipated to be held the end of May or early June.

TRLL SOFTBALL

Little League 9&10y Softball (4th or 5th Grade) - an intertown league for girls, who were 9 or 10 years old on 12/31 of the prior year (i.e., 12/31/17 for Spring 2018), who wish to learn/improve upon the fundamentals of softball and compete in Little League.  The teams will have two or three time slots per week for practice and games.  If you are 9 years old on 12/31 of the prior year and in 3rd Grade, you are eligible to play in this Division or with the 7&8year olds.

Little League 11&12y Softball (6th or 7th Grade) - an intertown league for girls, who were 11 or 12 years old on 12/31 of the prior year (i.e., 12/31/17 for Spring 2018), who wish to play in a competitive league.  Teams will have two or three time slots per week for practice and games.  Depending on registration numbers, teams may be combined with Rumson.  If you are 11 years old on 12/31 of the prior year and in 5th grade, you are eligible to play in this Division or the 9&10y Division.

Little League 13-16y Softball (Grades 8th-10th) - an intertown league for girls ages 13-16 years on 12/31 of the prior year (i.e., 12/31/17 for Spring 2018, who wish to play in a competitive league.  Depending on registration numbers, teams will most likely be combined with Rumson or other TRLL towns.  Teams will have two to three time slots per week for practice and games.  There are no age exceptions to this Division as the TRLL team will play other LL clubs during the regular season.
