Our Mission

The mission of Florida Phenoms Youth Basketball is to empower boys to achieve their academic and athletic goals in a fun and supportive environment. By working together to achieve this mission, the boys have an opportunity to grow into successful, happy, and healthy young men.

While basketball is the common bond of our organization, it is not the sole focus. Education is essential for the boys to have a successful future, and there are responsibilities that must be upheld for them to participate in our basketball program. Likewise, family and community are also important parts of the Phenom’s mission. This includes treating those around you with respect and being a positive influence in the community.

Phenoms History

The Florida Phenoms were started in 2007 by coach Chris Moore. Chris was interested in bringing together the best athletes from the Naples area to compete against teams from larger cities like Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.  After a 28-14 record and a third place finish in the USSSA Florida state championships, the Phenoms inaugural season was the perfect platform to build on.  Fast forward ten years later and the Phenoms organization has developed in the premier boys youth basketball organization in Southwest Florida.  The Phenoms boast an impressive collection of local, state, and national championships from the country's leading youth basketball entities, AAU, YBOA, and USSSA.  The number of student-athletes in the Phenom organization has grown to include boys teams from the fourth through eighth grade.  With the inaugural group of student-athletes now in college and several classes of skilled players to follow, the Phenoms future continues to look very bright.

Florida Phenoms Youth Basketball is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization as an affiliate of the Amateur Athletic Union of the US. All donations are tax deductable to the extent allowable by law. No individual solicitor will retain any portion of your gift. All monetary and product donations will be used for expenses directly related to Florida Phenoms Youth Basketball.

While most travel organizations charge kids hundreds of dollars monthly for participation, the Phenoms do not turn anyone away based on inability to pay.  Families are asked to contribute what the can for registration, gym space, and tournament fees.  Some of our coaches and parents generously provide for fees, food and lodging for kids that cannot afford these things.  For more information on how you can assist a needy student athlete by sponsoring their participation or travel costs or to get more information on team or organizational sponsorship, please contact Coach Chris at 239-537-0120 or email
