​GAMEspeed Hoops training program was founded to provide basketball players an opportunity train with quality trainers, extending to players without boarders.

Founder DaShawn Freeman has spent most of his training career in the Bay Area, and is now expanding his expertise and knowledge to players and coaches that want to improve their craft throughout the West Coast. In addition, DaShawn also wants to help former players who have aspirations to coach/train make it a career. Being one of the most experienced and innovative skills coaches, DaShawn obtains the know how to develop players and trainers.

Ultimately, the main goal of GAMEspeed Hoops is to provide quality workouts for players at any level who are serious about advancing their game, as well as create an environment where participants have someone to talk to pertaining to off court life situations.

DaShawn Freeman has been a professional basketball trainer since 2007. He began his career with 24 Hour Fitness under a program named Hoops24. Being one of the first trainers of the program, DaShawn (along with 2 other coaches) was given the task of not only conducting workouts but also mentoring others how to organize, maximize results, and communicate with players during a workout. 


Due to the termination of Hoops24 in early 2009, DaShawn became apart of Triple Threat Academy, which he worked at while back from college in the summer. Now DaShawn has earned a great reputation amongst his peers as well as parents/players throughout the West Coast. His goals are to lead and support his staff to become the best trainers/mentors they can be, as well develop players of all ages into great people through the life lessons of basketball.   • Mentor and Advise over 10 Successful Basketball Trainers and Coaches throughout the country from AAU to the NBA

  • Worked with over 400 Athletes (Notable players: *Hollis Thompson (*Georgetown, Signed OKC Thunder) Brandon Smith (Cal), Aerick Saunders (San Diego State, Overseas Professional, Ayinda Ubaka (Cal, Overseas Professional) Vinnie McGhee Jr. (Cal State NorthRidge, ABA), Ben Washington (Sonoma State), Travante Williams (College of Alameda), Will Cherry (Montana, Professional).

  • Directed Camps and Clinics throughout the West Coast 

Career Highlights:

  • Two Pre-Draft Workouts with Sacramento Kings in 2006.

  • Drafted 43rd in CBA Draft 2006 Butte Dare Devils

  • Played all 4 College Seasons at Sacramento State University-

  • Sacramento State all-time leader with 501 assists (sixth-best in Big Sky history) and 283 steals.

  • Two-time all-Big Sky Conference selection and three-time Big Sky Player of the Week.

  • Named First Team all-Big Sky and Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2005-2006

  • Played four seasons of varsity basketball at St. Mary’s High School in Berkeley, Calif. (1999-2002), Led Panthers to the Div. IV state title as a junior (2001), All-state and Bay Shore Athletic League MVP (2001)

  • Player on same AAU team as Leon Powe and Lebron James
