GEVBC Announces 2025-26 Officers

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss' Golden Eagle Volleyball Club announced their 2025-26 officers Sunday afternoon in the Payne Center. The elections were held at the club's first meeting back after the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. Kate Myles, Eric Harding, Joshua Gonzalez, Georgia Gibson and Mason Wells-all second-year members-were all elected into office effective immediatly following the conclusion of the meeting.

Kate Myles | President | Right Side Hitter | Gr.

Myles was elected to serve as President for the term. Myles, a right-side hitter, comes from 18 years of volleyball experience, including her time as a student-athlete at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for three years in Belton, Texas, where she served for two years as the Vice president of the Student-Athelte Advisory Committee. The San Antonio native is beginning her final year in the Sport Management Master's program at Southern Miss to pair with her Markeing B.B.A. from Mary Hardin-Baylor. During her time at Southern Miss, Myles serves as a graduate assistant in the Communications department for Southern Miss Athletics. Myles will be a primary administrator for the club, overseeing and collaborating with other officers to keep progressing the club throughout the year.

Eric Harding | Vice President | Setter | Sr.

Harding will be fufilling the role of Vice President throughout the Fall 2025 semester upon graduation in December. The Petal, Mississippi native will compete in his second season as a setter on the men's travel roster. The senior biomedical sciences major brings years experience from playing beach volleyball. The setter brings an array of experience form multiple organizations, such as being a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, SGA, Tri Beta, and Order of Omega. Harding will serve as the scondary administrative point of contact, assist in operation oversight, and will serve in the presidency role in Myles' absence.

Joshua Gonzalez | Secretary | Middle Blocker | Soph.

Gonzalez was elected to embody the secretary role for the club. New to the game, Josh has been able to grow and develop his play as a Middle Blocker since joining the club. The Chalmette, Louisiana is passionate about the fellowship of the club, hoping to encourage a productive and freindly enviroment. The psychology major's main focuses are fellowship, progression, and consistency to be able to encourage skill development for the game as well as camaraderie between club members.

Georgia Gibson | Treasurer | Defensive Specialist | Soph.

Gibson, a junior biomedical science major, was elected to serve as the club's treasurer. From Saucier, Mississippi, Gibson currently is a member of the Honors College Leadership Council as well as the American Medical Student Association at Southern Miss. Prior to being elected, Gibson has been coordinating profit shares for the club, which will be revealed on a later date.

Mason Wells | Social Media Chair | Defensive Specialist | Soph.

When the position of the social media chair was unfilled on election day, Wells stepped up to take on the role, as elected in by club members. The sophomore architectural engineering major, also from Chalmette, Louisiana, is new to the game, focusing on skill development since Spring 2025. Wells' main responsibilities are coordinating social media posts for the club's instagram page, as well as highlighting member accomplishments throughout the year via social media.
