"About the GNBL"

The GNBL is a newly designed baseball league in East Central Indiana, to promote the participation of "school" based baseball teams in the months of April and May. The league is named after the late Bobby Graves, a Muncie baseball legend and contributor, as well as my late father, Albert Nunley.

8U will be coach pitch.

10U will pitch from 46' and bases will be 65'. High school rules will be played.

Lead offs, steals, pitching from the stretch, etc.

12U will pitch from 50' and bases will be 70'. High school rules will be played.

Lead offs, steals, pitching from the stretch, etc.

Teams will consist of players from high school districts only. Kids from Monroe Central school district will play for Monroe Central, Winchester kids for Winchester, Jay County kids for Jay County, etc.

Games will be begin April 1. Games will be played every Friday and Sunday, concluding with a tournament the weekend prior to Memorial Day weekend.

For years, players in East Central Indiana have had to choose between local baseball and travel baseball. The GNBL allows for players to play for the "school" team in the early spring. They can practice and play for their school, March, April, and May. They may then choose to play travel ball in June and July. They may also choose to be done playing by Memorial Day. They may also choose to stay together as a "school" based team and hit some rec tournaments in the area. The options are endless.

We truly believe, opening up the rules to modified high school, will help the development of players in our area. We also believe this provides a smart, more cost effective option, to still be able to play travel ball or a full summer schedule if a player chooses.

Simply put, we like options. We like the ability to keep our good players in our local school based leagues, while still giving the more advanced players an opportunity to participate in a travel schedule. The GNBL offers the best of both! I look forward to seeing our league grow over the years.
