HFL BIL is a recreational basketball league with a focus is on learning the basics while having fun and getting exercise with a bunch of friends.  Leagues are available for 3rd/4th grade, 5th/6th grade, 7th/8th grade and 9-12th grade.  All games are played locally at one of the four HF-L school gyms (Lima Primary, Manor, the Middle school, or the High school).  Games or practices are approximately once a week on week nights, and are typically scheduled throughout January, February, and March.  Our program is sponsored by HFL Community Programs. Those looking for an advanced basketball experience with multiple practices/week will want to explore various travel league options.  Everyone else should give BIL a try!

GAME CANCELLATIONS DUE TO WEATHER:

 The BIL league follows the HFL School District Closures.  If the HFL school district has cancelled school, or if afterschool or evening activities are cancelled, due to weather, then games/practices for that evening would also be cancelled.  We will do our best to attempt to schedule a make-up game if possible.

BIL BACKGROUND: 

HFL Community Programs sponsors HFL Basketball Instructional League (HFL-BIL), a co-ed recreational basketball league for 3-12 grade students living in the vicinity of HFL. HFL BIL is intended to be a basic instructional league for the younger students and a recreational league for the older students.

This league is a good match for students who may not be very athletic and/or are not interested in the time commitment or intensity that are typical of interscholastic teams or travel teams. Games are typically light-hearted, with attention put less towards winning than on getting out and having fun with students on a cold winter night.
