Seneca Valley Screaming Eagles Varsity Team Advance to the 3A West Regional Championship!!

The Seneca Valley Screaming Eagles will face North Hagerstown High School in the 3A West Regional Championship game on May 17 at 4:30 PM at North Hagerstown High School. Good Luck Screaming Eagles!!!!!


Eagles Fall to Rockets, End 2013 Season 6-6

The Eagles fell to the Richard Montgomery Rockets in their season finale with a score of 6-2. The Eagles finished the year 6-6, a four win improvement from the year before. We will announce our end of the year banquet via email. Please continue to play on throughout the summer and fall. Good luck to the Varsity Screaming Eagles as they begin their playoffs next week as the #2 seed. We hope to see you again next season.


Aguilar Turns Triple Play, Eagles Edge Einstein for Sixth Win

The Eagles visited the Titans of Albert Einstein High School Saturday morning, looking to earn their sixth win of the year. The Eagles helped their  cause, tallying seven runs in the first inning.  In the bottom of the third inning, Freshman Carlos Aguilar came in as a defensive replacement in right field. With no outs and the bases loaded, Einstein's number two batter hit a line drive to Aguilar who caught it and quickly threw it to the second baseman Sophomore Erik Jeffries who threw it to Sophomore shortstop Brad Smith who then stepped on second base for the second out before sending it to third baseman Sophomore James Puhnaty to step on the third base, completing the always rare triple play. In short it was scored as a 9-4-6-5 triple play. The Eagles continued the offensive surge, scoring 18 total, shutting out Einstein for a final score of 18-0. The Screaming Eagles final game is away at Montgomery College-Rockville on Thursday, May 2 at 3:30 PM as they face off against the Rockets of Richard Montgomery in what has been a twice postponed game.


After back to back losses, Eagles erupt for 24 against Watkins Mill

After back to back losses to Gaithersburg and Quince Orchard, Seneca Valley Screaming Eagles exploded for 24 runs to defeat the Wolverines of Watkins Mill 24-1.  Every Eagle contributed in the offensive explosion, including Freshman Ronit Das, who tallied his first hit of the season.  The Screaming Eagles next game will be at Albert Einstein High School on Saturday, April 27, at 10AM.


Despite a battle, Eagles fall short to Gaithersburg 3-2

The Seneca Valley Screaming Eagles fought hard but fell short to the Trojans of Gaithersburg with a score of 3-2. Solid pitching efforts by Sophomores James Puhnaty and Harrison Sokoloff and a last inning bases loaded rally were not enough for the Eagles to topple the Trojans. The next game for the Screaming Eagles will take place Saturday, April 20, at 10 AM against the Rockets of Richard Montgomery at Montgomery College-Rockville.


Puhnaty drives in 3, Eagles down Damascus 6-4

The Eagles came into what would be a seesaw battle between their route 27 rival Damascus on Tuesday afternoon. The lead was exchanged six different times before the bottom of the fourth when Sophomore James Puhnaty hit a 2 run single, giving the Eagles a 5-4 lead. Freshman Kendall Pinales helped the Eagles out with an insurance RBI in the bottom of the 5th before Sophomore Justin Carroll closed out the game in the 6th inning, earning the save. The game was then called after a two hour time limit, earning the Eagles their fourth win of the season.  The Eagles next game is Thursday against Gaithersburg at Kelley Park.


Eagles end 3 game skid, beat Clarksburg 6-2

After consecutive losses to Poolesville, Sherwood and Northwest, the Seneca Valley Screaming Eagles pulled themselves together and back to .500 after a 6-2 win Saturday morning vs. Clarksburg. Junior Connor Patswald pitched a strong 5 innings to earn the win and Sophomore Justin Carroll closed the game out to earn the save. Defense was stellar starting in the bottom of the 1st inning when Junior Brandon Rosen threw out a runner at the plate from right field.  Rosen also helped himself at the plate with an RBI Triple to give the edge to the Eagles.  The Screaming Eagles next game is at home on Tuesday against Damascus.


Josh Roberson drives in 4, just misses cycle in 16-6 win over Blake

If it's not one Roberson, it's another. Sophomore Josh Roberson went 3-3, drove in 4 runs and was a homerun shy of the cycle in the home opener for the Seneca Valley Junior Varsity team. Roberson also started the game pitching, throwing 3 strong innings, striking out 6, before Justin Carroll came in to seal the victory in relief. Brad Smith and Brandon Rosen also helped out with a triple each as the Screaming Eagles were victorious 16-6.

The 2013 Junior Varsity Baseball Season started on a 30 degree Thursday for Seneca Valley as they traveled to Northwood High School.  Sophomore Orlando Roberson was named Opening Day starting pitcher for the Screaming Eagles and did not disappoint. Roberson threw a no hitter against Northwood, facing 17 batters and striking out 10 in 5 innings. Roberson did not stop there, driving in 6 runs for SV at the plate in a 23 run explosion vs. Northwood. Every Eagle contributed offensively as the Junior Varsity left Northwood High School with their first win of the season.  The next game will be against Blake High School at Seneca Valley High School after Spring Break.
